uhhhhh. What, for a re-read or a first time?

Here's my advice for the first time reader of so we don't kill the ones we love:

There is a happy ending but they all gotta work for it.

Every single character is an unreliable source. They all have specific information that they share unreliably. Comparing and contrasting knowledge to decide what is true is lowkey the point.

Actually to emphasize this: there are chapters where the POV changes to another character. Sometimes, that character will outright lie. It's intentional.

The structure is Act-Intermission-Act-Intermission-Act. Reaching the end of any act or intermission is a good stopping point.

Jake Abraxas English cannot be warned for but please consider this a warning. The only way I can describe him is as a mental virus. The right words from the wrong man can change the possibility space.

I'm still smug over how the Act Two finale landed lmao.

Advice for returning readers of SWDKTOWL:

Every time there's a fucking viciously mean lil line that only makes sense when you know the full story and makes you go "oh WHAT the fuck", know I am somewhere cackling like the most cliche villain ever.

Yes, it's still the most concentrated effort and skill I've put into any story. TBH I think I can only pull off one of these every few years.

My favorite exchange is the entire store is: "If you screw me, I will kill you, and I've killed worse than you." "Oh, [REDACTED]. There are none worse than me. But you know what? I like your odds."

I went to Naka kon this weekend. One of the cosplays I'm most proud of is me last minute throwing together a look for Dave from @callmearcturus "So We Don't Kill The Ones We Love" which is a 10/10 fic please go read on AO3!
