Sweatastic.
Yea I just made a new word, what of it? It’s sweaty, and it’s fantastic, and it’s just how I feel RIIIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTT now. Yea it took me a while to drag my ass out of the house and into the cold cold world because I achieved a few great things tonight.
1. Hitting at staying at my max heart rate. Last time it made me feel like death. This time I thought I would take a pseudo-scientific approach and treat it like intervals (and play with my brand new heart rate monitor – which does not disappoint). so what I did was I ran for 10 minutes to warm up, on an incline of 2 (like I always do so I actually have to work rather than cruising with it pulling me along) then I would pick up my pace for 1 minute to a challenging but comfortable fast pace – which I wouldn’t be able to keep for more than 3 mins- then up the ante for 1 min pushing myself my hardest and becoming gassed in the process, then taking it down to the warm up pace until my heart rate hit 135 and then rinse & repeat. My aim was, honestly, to gas myself. I want to tap into my anaerobic fitness, which basically means without oxygen, i.e. I had to gas myself to do it. Obviously you can’t do it for long or you will DROP. In this you work your fast twitch muscles and build them to make you faster, stronger, and fitter. And it feels really strange. I found my legs turned to jelly and my tongue went numb. There are some huge benefits to this crazy face style of training, such as being awesome for weight loss (it munches through those fatty stores for anything that it can use to keep you goin’), it speeds up your metabolism, it toughens your bones, it increases your energy, and can even help lower blood sugar. Also, it makes you feel goodJ. AND I burnt 853cals in under an hour, jebezus.
2. I saw sal. Sal is one of my favourite trainers at the gym and she hasn’t been about much lately. I’ve missed her teeny tiny bouncy self, smiling and being the most motivating individual I have ever come across. She has this was of talking to you that just makes you want to achieve.
3. I spoke to sal about something I’ve been thinking about for a while… I’m going to do my fitness cert 3, that’s right kids: I’m doing it. I’m taking the time off from uni any way so why the hell not? May as well do what you love, help others, and get paid for it all at once. It will also feed that crazy hunger I have for fitness knowledge.
So they are my three highs of tonight. So obviously it was worth going into the gym today, like it is every day. Just got to keep this feeling in my head so next time I’m all like WAAAAA ITS TOO COLD I can suck that up and lace up those pink and black Nikes.
Im really all over the list thing right now arent i? eh if its flows.
So very much loving
