Inktober 2022 day 6 💐 "Bouquet"
"It's... Missing something." Noted Elsa.
Anna looked at her sister's reflection in the mirror, then frowned as she looked down and analyzed her wedding dress for the upteenth time.
"What? What is missing?" She asked worriedly, her previous excited mood switching to panic.
They had spent hours preparing this dress, what did they possibly miss? Anna inspected the train, twirling on herself, and when she lifted her head to Elsa who was standing behind her, the latter let out a chuckle.
"Will you tell me, instead of laughing?" Reproached the redhead, though her sister's giggle was contagious.
Elsa made several steps forward, and revealed what she had in fact been hiding behind her back. Anna didn't realize that she held something all along; Elsa was so overwhelmed and emotional seeing her baby sister wear her wedding dress earlier that she had placed her hands in her back in pure reverence while the seamstresses worked. She didn't expect the blonde to secretly pick something while she was distracted and keep it there.
Elsa presented a stunning bouquet she had made herself, and Anna gasped. It had multiple colors, a perfectly deliberate act to represent the younger sister's personality, and it was made of radically different flowers, but they somehow all went very well together, completing each other. The bouquet was arranged in an intricate way, which made it obvious that Elsa spent a long time on it.
"They're fresh." Smiled Elsa. "Not that I sprayed them with snow or anything." She explained with increasing bubbly nervousness, especially when she saw that Anna kept staring at it. "I picked them right before leaving the Forest. Most of them come from Northuldra regions."
She outstretched her hand to present the bouquet closer to her sister.
"Oh, it's gorgeous." Said Anna.
Elsa frowned. There was something odd in her tone. Her sentence seemed genuine, but it sounded like she was expecting something else.
"What?" Asked the elder.
"What?"
"You're disappointed. What's wrong?"
Anna widened her eyes, and lifted her gloved hands with insisting panicked gestures. "Oh, nothing's wrong, Elsa, I swear! I just..."
She stared at the bouquet again, and the Fifth Spirit tried to understand the familiar sparkle in her teal blue eyes. She then gasped. "You wanted me to make you an ice bouquet, didn't you? Look, I can craft you one, if you want..."
She immediately put the bouquet in her right hand to start to twirl her left wrist, but the redhead quickly grasped her forearm. "No, no, there's no need."
"Truly." She added when she met Elsa's unsure expression. Anna then melted in a smile, and looked at the beautiful bouquet in her elder's hand.
"Those flowers are magnificent. And I know you by heart; you asked the tribe about the signification of the Northuldra ones in ancient tales so you could make me the most meaningful bouquet, didn't you? It would be heartless of me to refuse it."
She thought that Elsa would roll her eyes at her for mentioning how nerdy she was, but the blonde blushed deeply.
The Spirit then started to fidget with the delicate paper that surrounded the stalks, and Anna tilted her head tenderly.
"Do you want to explain me what each of them represent? Then you can hand it to me once I know the full message behind it."
Elsa's blush increased, but this time she looked at her, and smiled at the love emanating from Anna. She had a soft sigh.
"Okay." She said resolutely and happily, and she cleared her throat with a larger smile. "So, I started with the one in the center, which of course had to be a sunflower..."
