So I got to plant something mysterious and interesting today. I got the seeds for this thing from an elder neighbour lady, who had some memory problems, but she knew I was into gardening, and she saved these seeds for me. She put them in my hand saying: 'These look like pumpkins, but they're sweet like watermelons'. And I'm intrigued and confused, but I figure, 'Oh, a cantaloupe?' and she says, 'No! I got it in the store, it's like watermelon inside, but looks like pumpkin from the outside.'
I had never seen such a thing. I was mad curious tho, so I carefully saved these seeds. They look more like a squash seed than a cantaloupe, but I still have no idea what it actually is. So, I grew a little transplant of it, marked it as 'Unknown Mystery Plant', and here it is getting planted! Hopefully we'll find out what this is, the leaves are definitely not cantaloupe, and it looks like a very happy, round-leaved squash plant.
