Awwwwwww...........I like John, the voice of reason
I love John and Jodie. John is very sweet. I’m glad he stepped in before things got too carried away, but the twins will have to deal with their issues at some point. They kind of just left things after Jodie moved out.

Oh wow. I kind of feel bad for Sheila now, she seems like a nice girl, and Jason just feels jerkier and jerkier.

You'll miss her, or at least the things she did around the house.
Sheila isn’t bad (she’s just drawn that way😉). She’s unlucky and she’d definitely have a Pleasure secondary if I had Free Time. Unfortunately, Jason would also definitely have a Pleasure secondary. He’s much more focused on getting what he wants and being happy than he is on the consequences of his actions or how other people feel. He’s definitely going to miss his sister eventually. Remember, they are twins, and this will be the first time they’ve ever lived apart. Round 4 is going to get interesting.

That is too funny! I had no idea Mary Baldwin was even a university! Ha ha!
Possibly the last of my replies post for 2017, so I just want to say a big THANK YOU for your comments this year. I really enjoy reading them and it flatters me that people like what I post.

Someone who makes a living keeping clams contained in their natural habitat, I guess? In internet slang though, it’s something... dirty.

How did you get those little portraits?
They’re desk locators! Instead of throwing their homework all over the place, those portraits tell the kids where their desk is and then they put their homework there. They’re originally by MogHughson (here) and I have some recolors by Michelle (here).
Some of these are really old, I’m afraid. :( We’re getting ready to migrate to Colorado, so I’ve had to spend time that I’d normally use to sit in front of a computer to pack and stuff instead. :) The plan is to leave on Wednesday, the 1st. We’ll see if that actually happens. Once it does happen I’ll be in communications blackout for a few days, and I’ll probably be quiet-ish for a while before that, so...yeah.

I want to move to GilsCarburg!
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind living in my game. :) But then, I suppose many Simmers would want to live in their game. We generally create the worlds we’d like to live in, right?
eulaliasims replied to your photo “A restaurant for GilsCarburg, which will eventually be owned by Aaron...”
Lovely! The patio is so pretty. :)
I have a fondness for real-life restaurants with patio dining. Probably has something to do with being claustrophobic. Crowded indoor restaurants are difficult for me to eat in because I start getting that panicky “the walls are closing in on me” feeling. So, whenever I have an owned restaurant in my game (which isn’t very often because they’re honestly a bit of a pain in the butt to run :P), they always get a patio. And that pergola set has been one of those things that I’ve been saying “Use it or lose it” about, so...

Have you same sex pregnancies allowed in your neighboorhood or not? They would surely have intersting children!
I don’t use a same-sex pregnancy mod, no. I do “unlock” same-sex pregnancy via “genetic engineering” when there are Sims high enough in both the Science and Medicine careers because my justification for it is that it’s backward-engineered from what the aliens do. But I create such pregnancies with the Sim Blender, not with a pregnancy mod. Right now, that’s not yet unlocked, though, and it probably won’t be in Aaron and Kennedy’s lifetime. Which is a shame because they probably would make interesting kids, and I’d like to breed Kennedy’s nose. :) Perhaps he’ll end up getting alien-pregnant. :)

holleyberry replied to your photo “Stuff I’ve Just Learned About a Game I’ve Been Playing For a Decade,...”
I have noticed this. Weather in this game is so cool.
It is very cool. I mean, yeah, I may hate it when tropical vacations get rained out, but that is realistic. And yes, the visual details in the game -- and not just when it comes to weather -- are just lovely. It’s the attention to that level of detail that I just love about the game...and that make the later games just seem sort of slap-dash in comparison.
kayleigh-83 replied to your photo “Stuff I’ve Just Learned About a Game I’ve Been Playing For a Decade,...”
Uhhh what?? Wow! Although I only noticed in the last year that rain runs down the roof. I don't know if I just never noticed it before, or if my graphics settings/graphics card on my old computer wouldn't show it.
alicephant replied to your photo “Stuff I’ve Just Learned About a Game I’ve Been Playing For a Decade,...”
I... did not know this either.
Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one! :D I think I might have not noticed it because it does have to hail for a while for it to accumulate. Usually, hail storms in my game are pretty short. But that time, it went on for a while, so...yeah.
princess-arystal21 replied to your photo “Tonight’s project: The rassin’-frassin’ Castaway Stories story…again....”
I've never been able to play that game, though I have enjoyed the conversions for Sims 2 :D.
Really? Can’t play it as in you can’t get it to run, or can’t play it because you get bored with it? The story part is kind of boring, IMO, especially because I don’t really like directed play, but it is a good introduction to how the game works (and how it’s different from TS2, for those of us used to playing that), and once you play through it to unlock everything, free-playing the game is actually quite fun. It’s the perfect game for the sort of scenario I play in it, which is a sort of “post-apocalyptic, almost everyone’s dead, let’s repopulate the world” sort of thing. Sure, you CAN do that in TS2, but the way Castaway is structured without traditional careers and without LTWs and modern conveniences and stuff, it’s just easier and feels more...I dunno, organic? Plus, it’s just dang pretty once you add in stuff like custom skies and whatnot. :)
I do wish that it had some of the stuff that TS2 has (especially the ability to grow food beyond the fruit trees that the game has), but I intend to see if any of Sun and Moon’s custom crafting stations and harvestable crops will work in the game. They might, since there is crafting and crafting stations in Castaway... *fingers crossed*

Love the look of this whole neighborhood!
Thank you! I think it’s going to be lovely when it’s done as well as fun to play. I learned some lessons from my first stab at the concept, and hopefully I’ve remedied them for this version of it. I just have to curb my impulse to over-hood-decorate it with lots of high-res stuff. Either that, or give in and buy a more powerful power supply and a fancier video card for my Simming computer. :)
greatcheesecakepersona replied to your photoset “Greenacre house #5, the next-to-last one. This one’s an orchard. The...”
It's crazy how much bigger a lot looks when combining it with hood deco! It's so seamless :)
Yeah, that’s why I love incorporating neighborhood deco into lots. I don’t actually like TS3′s “open world” concept because for me it gets overwhelming especially if I’m playing larger families with Sims all over the place. I tend to lose track of them, and I don’t like that. But I do like the appearance of an open world. So, in TS2, I try to make the world look as open as possible without it actually being open. In my perfect game, there’d be no icky-looking lot imposters but rather high-res lot imposters, to complete the illusion. But since I can’t have that...Well, incorporating hood deco into lots does help the illusion, makes everything look contiguous and seamless instead of just random lots haphazardly plopped down.
The only bad thing is that placing invisible fences (so that Sims don’t walk through the on-lot deco) is kind of a pain in the butt since, you know, you can’t see them as you’re placing them. But it’s a small price to pay. :)

lol all the nudity in the family is hilarious
That’s why I have the nudist mod! :) I don’t know why some things are just funnier when the Sims are nekkid...BUT THEY ARE! Well, at least to me. :) But I do have a weird sense of humor, so there’s that. :)

sweetpea928 replied to your photoset “You have some of the most beautiful gardens in the county here, Mr....”
Do you have a mod that allows first cousin marriages? Sorry if this has already been answered!
I do not, but Marianna Kitteridge and Spencer Cavendish (who were canonically siblings) aren’t actually siblings in game because I made them separately in CAS. So Romana and Cambrian don’t have family ties. I am pretty sure there would be a mod for this somewhere, and I will probably need to hunt it down sometime soon!
