          Mulan found herself glancing up at the Elven Knight before her, uncertainty reflecting within her gaze for a moments breath. truthfully, she was unsure of how to answer his question, for though she knew her her heart she was a woman of conscience, for she cared about the people that she served, she knew too that her rank did not always allow leniency.

        ❝  i try to do what is right for both my people and my country.  ❞    she responded at last, her tone reflective as she wished to answer him honestly.     ❝  decisions weigh upon my shoulder, and those under my command look to me for guidance. i will do what i must to protect them, even if that means sacrifice on my end.  ❞    shifting for a moment, she stilled her breath as tried to make sure that her meaning was not misunderstood.      ❝  and while i am grateful to hold a position of power, it is not the will of ambition that lead me to it, but instead my desire to protect and bring forth peace both my family and to my nation.   ❞   

          shifting a bit, she released a sigh, for she felt as if she were not explaining herself well enough to answer his inquiry.    ❝  forgive me... i am... new to this. i want to explain this better but i find myself lacking in the skills to do so.  ❞    with a shake of her head, she gave him a small smile before raising a brow of her own.      ❝  and what of you, sir ?   ❞

Wild landed in a low crouch, one had catching himself on the ground, bow in his free hand. Air gusted from his lips a couple times before he steadied his breathing, straightening with a wide grin to smile at the hero.

They'd been doing a lot of drilling recently. It was something Twilight said he wanted to do, to teach Wild about some skills that he'd been taught himself. And this one had been especially tricky to manage, a back-flip into slow aim to shoot a cluster of arrows at a distant target. The way time slowed around him while he aimed was familiar at least, but righting himself in space as he flipped with the tricky part. He'd trained with something similar before, a back-flip into a furious attack with his sword, but aiming a bow and arrow was much more complicated.

After all the work, finally, a small cluster of arrows nested at the middle of the bullseye, almost like he'd been able to place them from a normal standing position. Jogging over, Wild still had to check his aim, inspecting the arrows with a firm nod before turning to look at his teacher. Tapping his hand to his chin, he then swung his hand forward. << Thank you. >>

" do you mean it, alv? " aurora asked softly, tentatively. " please, say you do. " she was weary of their secrets, of having to hide her love her for knight. surely, there was somewhere they could run and be together — her marriage to the king be damned.

She DOES. She loves flowers. Though I don't think she has a main 'favorite' they are all beautiful and special to her. She's just... easy to please haha.

Rhythorn's head rested in Hildr's lap as they sat underneath a tree. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, dancing over the two of them. Hildr's fingers combed through his hair, which was left undone from it's usual braid.

"I know, love," he reassured her. He gave her a soft smile, though it faded after a moment. He had been feeling melancholy lately and he knew that Hildr had noticed. He didn't want to worry her. He reached up and brushed his fingertips over her cheek.

"It's close to the anniversary of my wife and daughter's deaths," he said after a moment. "I miss them." He couldn't help it. He especially missed his daughter.

He had told Hildr about them before and that they had been killed, but he'd never gone into details. He hadn't wanted to burden her with that knowledge.

Nymphs didn't have to eat to survive, but they could eat food if they wanted to. Evolette enjoyed eating food, though her chosen diet was mostly fruit from the forest.

Link was making something called pumpkin soup. She had never had pumpkin before, but it smelled delicious. When he held up a spoonful for her to taste, she did so happily.

"Oh!" There were more flavors than she was expecting. Some spices to go along with what she assumed was the taste of pumpkin. "It's delicious."

"This is weird, even for you. What are you doing?" - alv

"Charming," she muttered, with faint amusement, as she wobbled precariously on top of two fallen logs that she'd stacked upon each other. One of her legs was thrown out to the side to aid her balance, while she stood on her tiptoes and stretched as far as she could with her arm. After a long moment of unsuccessful straining, she flickered her gaze away from the rare, red flower blooming from a branch quite clearly out of her reach and turned her attention to Alv.

"I'm foraging," she told him, as she jumped off the logs and placed her feet back on solid ground. "That flower has particularly potent healing qualities, and I've been waiting for it to bloom all season. Can you reach it?" her gaze flickered up and down his body, assessing; he was certainly far taller than her. But was he tall enough?

Niamh smiled at him, reaching out to brush her fingers along his cheek. It was early morning in the little cottage and the two of them were snuggled up beneath the blankets to ward off the cold. Her pregnant belly poked out between the two of them, Alv's hand resting on it.

"When we first met, I wasn't sure I'd like you," Niamh admitted, "I didn't want a personal knight at all. But you were so kind and so sweet." She leaned in and kissed him softly. "I love you so much."
