At our little ranch in Edgewood, NM, we have a family of lizards who live in the bushes in front of our house. We started to feed them with mealworms, and they run right into our hands to eat them. If they see you going down the walk, they will run out and follow you, or go to the first step and wait for you to come out with the goodies. This has been going on for at least 8 years! They are something else!
Oh my GOD it's like feeding ducks or squirrels at the park or something, but it's LIZARDS!! And these are the common lizards that live around my place! I have so much envy! I'd love for wild lizards to trust me enough to hand feed them... though to be fair I never offered.
