reblog if you’ve been kicked by a breaststroker and like if you’re the said breaststroker
when you ask the person in front of you what they're on in a distance set and they say "23 laps"
the “my kid’s swimming for the first time and i want him to be prepared” parent starter pack
coach: *holds kickboard out at the other end of the pool* try and dive over this!! i know you can do it!
someone on my team: *disqualifies the relay*
me: it's fine
me: *disqualifies the relay*
me: i don't deserve to live
It's funny how after one good race you feel on top of the world and like anything is possible and after one bad race its over and you feel like you're never getting better again.
non-swimmers: how can you get thirsty at practice with all that water around you?
also non-swimmers: did you know that the pool water is 49% pee, 49% sweat, and 2% dead skin cells???????
things you hear at the pool
“i’m not even awake yet”
“why is the water so fucking cold”
“is this legal”
“i can finally feel my toes!”
“don’t sit on the laneline!”
“coach, i have to go to the bathroom”
“yes, coach, i know we’re starting the main set but i really have to go-”
“i swallowed like half a gallon of water back there”
“i’m not doing breaststroke for this set again-”
“i can’t see shit out of these goggles”
“re-lays! re-lays! re-lays!”
“i’m soo tired” “no i’m more tired” “go in front” “you go in front”
“ay look i can make my swimsuit puff up”
“five seconds rest are you shitting me we’re all gonna die”
“i’m gonna miss the interval...negative rest is fine”
“those are my paddles! hey!”
lots of splashing
lots of talking
choking
drowning
dying
