Hello, I’m an avid swimmer and I recently saw your video. You have a lovely position in the water and your distance and times are super good! I am not criticising you, I just noticed that your hand entry is too far across. If you stood with your arms completely upright, that’s where your entry should be. Not crossing over your head. Your hand entry itself is awesome, I wish mine looked like that. You’ll find you’ll have more power in your pull if you essentially widen you arms.
O0o thanks anon!!
Yeah it was very eye-opening to see myself swim on camera for the first time. I really appreciate the tip! I found a few things I want to work on in terms of form, and my entry is one of them.
Also, raising my elbows up more, controlling my breathing, and making sure I rotate my body more on strokes.
If anyone has any more swimming tips please send them!!
Hair Care Tips Before Swimming : Ways to Prevent Your Hair From Chlorine/Seawater
I’m sure you already know these, but the zipper drill will help you focus on keeping your elbows high and the six-kick-switch drill with help with more fully rotating! Both of these can be found on YouTube too.
Ah, yes. Those drills bring back memories of swim practice! I've definitely forgot a lot of them because it's been so long. Thanks for jogging my memory!!
The zipper will totally help me with my stroke!
I also just dug out this book:
I haven't used it in a while but I think I'll start using it again!

How Do You Introduce Your Dog to Swimming While Keeping Safety First?
I used to think dogs instinctively knew how to swim, so I didn’t expect much hesitation when I took mine to the water. Seeing him pause made me realize he needed reassurance, not pressure. We started slow, with shallow water and plenty of closeness so he felt supported.
Positive reinforcement quickly became my strategy. I celebrated every small success, whether it was stepping into the water or calmly paddling for a moment. Keeping sessions short helped him associate swimming with fun instead of stress.
As his skills developed, I became more cautious about where we swam. I learned to look out for unsafe conditions like cold temperatures, uneven ground, and unexpected obstacles. Choosing calmer locations helped build his confidence.
I also learned that dependable gear matters. The Halo Collar 5 is designed to handle water adventures, offering IP67 waterproof protection for short underwater exposure. Knowing it stays functional while he swims adds an extra layer of safety.
With time, swimming turned into one of our favorite activities. Respecting his comfort level, staying alert, and using reliable tools made all the difference.
