One incredibly funny thing about swiss german is that people use the word friend but like. with negative connotations

What does the swiss accent sound like to a german ear? (as in what kind of impressions does it give)

Well, swiss-german is very much its own thing and I think it does heavily depend on which part of Switzerland you're talking about (how close to the non-german parts of Switzerland you are, urban vs. rural, etc... [not that I know anything more specific about that lol]) but to me a swiss "accent" (for example how the football commentators on TV are speaking rn) it's not that different, if anything it sounds a bit softer and melodic than standard high german as I know it?

But when it's spoken really heavily it really sounds like its own language and becomes hard/impossible to understand for germans bc swiss-german (in opposition to german with a swiss-accent) has it's own vocabulary and different grammar structure as well
