Is this the 1st Switch 2 Partner Showcase? My thoughts on the Direct of 5/2/2026!

I should really see about drawing or commissioning some sort of artwork to make these posts more attention grabbing. Just another thing to add to my list. Enough about that though, there was a Nintendo Direct focused on 3rd parties so here are my highlights from it.

Super Bomberman Collection is my highlight; always nice to see Bomberman receive some love. Admittedly I've never played any of the SNES Bomberman games; pretty much the one Nintendo system I haven't played a Bomberman game on, but still... wonder if we could see the N64 entries bundled in a collection down the road. Anyway, real cool that it is getting a physical release.

In terms of brand new games, Tokyo Scramble caught my eye... some appreciate angles admittedly helped with that. The stealth game with trap activation somewhat reminds me of how I played Watch Dogs... but with dinosaurs. As always though, I'm left wondering if a game is digital, physical, or a game key card; wish they would reveal these details upfront.

My 3rd highlight is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Those open first person focused games are not my usual cup of tea but I've been having an odd nostalgia for it as of late. If physical and with motion controls, then it would be super appealing to me.

Other games that intrigued me include Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections (potential Birthday present for my brother), Another Eden Begins, Reanimal, and Culdcept Begins. Other things to note is that I was not expecting amiibos in this direct (Resident Evil ones at that; though Leon is quite fitting given his surprisingly frequent connections with Nintendo) and I'm curious to hear more about the Console Archives. Is a 3rd party company makings their own virtual console on Nintendo's eShop effectively? Rather amusing that.

The direct was good but not groundbreaking; nothing to make me immediately go out and get a Switchertwo yet... though that is more due to not having money at the moment. What did you all think about it though?
