new strat for trying to induce switching;
STEP 1 – lay down. preferably on your bed because it's most comfortable ++ your body is used to the surface so it won't feel weird.
STEP 2 – lay as still as possible. the position doesn't matter but make sure it's comfortable so you won't break focus by needing to move so make sure you find a good position where your entire body is okay with where they're placed.
STEP 2.1 – if you can't handle laying still, you can have a TV/video playing in the background to help with the silence and provide stimulation. it's best to choose something like ambience since it's literally made to just be background noise so your brain won't become antsy/irritated due to lack of stimulation. i would recommend Minecraft ambience or Briggsy, a YouTuber who makes Team Fortress 2 ambience that isn't completely silent but also isn't too loud/chaotic to the point that it drags your attention away!
STEP 3 – make sure your entire body is relaxed. some people struggle to recognize when muscles are relaxed/tense so a tip is your body will automatically relax when it gets into a comfortable position and a key sign is parts of your body feeling a bit heavier [disengaged muscles, are not waiting to be used and will therefore relax all weight] and, the most obvious, parts of your body going limp. the most obvious is the feet, which will tilt out to the side since the muscles are no longer holding them straight up ++ your body automatically relaxes your feet WAYYY more often than you think.
STEP 4 – call forward a headmate/alter/tulpa/wtv u call the losers /aff which, if you're confused by this step; headmates can be called forward by simply thinking of them. it also helps to kind of imagine yourself then imagine them walking/being brought over to you. you can tell when they're there because you just feel another presence/overall different, even if you can't name the feeling.
STEP 5 – just fuck around. don't move though!! just think abt stuff like your day, upcoming stuff, the video you're playing in the background, etc. you can also attempt to engage your headmates by bringing up things they like, asking for their opinion [how they respond doesn't matter i.e. emotions, actual words, etc], or just imagining yourself sitting/laying down/chilling w them.
STEP 6 – focus on any twitches/slight movements that you aren't causing. don't try and stop them and don't act like they bother you or anything. just let your headmates know that you don't care and that they're free to control the body/front.
STEP 7 – continue doing this until they get more comfortable 👍🏻 time varies depending on person but that doesn't matter
uh i made this up in bed last night and my random participant was Daisuke and it produced slight muscle tension in my arms n stuff :3
