Hello there! I love following this zine! How would one go about submitting or becoming a contributor?
Hello! At this time, our project has wrapped creation, so we are not seeking any additional contributors. That said, preorders will be opening on August 24th if you'd like to grab a copy or support our team!
Q: when will we know the participants in the zine and are you going to write to all the people who were pitched, chosen and not chosen or just to the people who you chose?
A: Hello, We'll be posting our contributor spotlights from May until preorders open (currently estimated to open in August)!
As this is an invite-only application, we will be reaching out directly to creators to invite them to the project and will not be rejecting anyone as we have not had applications for this project
Q: Would it be OC only or can we also do canon characters? Also would AUs be allowed if we don’t have a specific knight OC?
A: Hello! Any recognised canon characters must be within the public domain. Alternative Universes are not currently within the scope of the project, but may be discussed on a case by case basis with the mods. Please get in touch via socials or emails if you have a specific idea in mind and would like to check it is suitable.
You are welcome to make a piece for the zine based on a historical figure, or brainstorm with mods to create a character for the project if you would prefer!
Q: What do you mean by "daily life"? Can our piece be higher stakes/less grounded in the mundane?
A: The daily life of a knight isn't limited to daily training, managing lands, and caring for their horses. It would also include epic battles and protecting their liege from harm! If you have a specific idea in mind and would like to check it is suitable, please get in touch via socials or email to discuss.
Q: How will you handle AI scraping in platforms such as X? I am concerned about my art possibly being modified (glazing is not enough in X) or used for training when posted on that platform.
A: Hello! Thank you for raising this valid concern.
The mod team is still discussing exactly what we do with our Twitter account, what we are personally comfortable with being posted there, and how we facilitate what our contributors are comfortable with.
For now, we can confirm that any previews shared on Twitter will have shrunk down art with low resolution images compared to original files, and we will be consulting with contributors about where their art is shared.
Q: Are you looking for a specific artstyle for the zine, like just realism/semi realism or could there be cartoony art too?
A: We're interested in demonstrating a variety of art styles in the zine! Art style is not something we are evaluating on - you can see the list of what we will be looking at here
Q: Hi, I'm wondering if there's a preferred location for the shipping mod to work out of :)
A: While we do ask for your location for planning purposes, we will not use your shipping location as a consideration when evaluating your app!
