The Onryo Steel
Just gonna leave this here
everytime i remember that taigen was turned on imagining himself battling mizu i go a little bit feral i think.... that scene just so perfectly represents them. akemi using her own ability to understand people and her desire to have power by narrating the gayest, to their knowledge of mizu's gender, battle scene before having sex with taigen...
how sex is always about submitting to akemi, about being vulnerable and taken care of by her, about being aroused when akemi acts as a mirror of that person. she uses sex as a means of understanding someone's soul, because that's all it could be to her. it's power as much as it is pleasure, to her and other women like madame kaji. it's deeper than sex; it's a mirror.
that taigen is aroused not only by himself, like lord watari or whatever his name was, but by mizu's skill in battle. by the tumbling and struggle of battle. by his submitting to mizu, by his defeating mizu. how, in the end, fighting is the source of mizu and taigen's strengthening relationship.
mizu is also aroused by her fighting taigen... omfg the flashback about them tumbling together when madame kaji leads mizu thru those little windows into private rooms. sword-fighting is intimate to her, which i believe is partially why she says how he was the one worthy of her sword. sword-fighting is literally her entire life. to recognize his skill and ADMIRE him for it... it makes me go insane you don't understand
UGHH and my recent favorite part... taigen says, when mizu and him were fighting fowler in the 8th episode, "it's your fight. so it's mine." ARGHHGG ARF ARGSFHFJ GRRRR and mizu deliberately wanting to protect him???
she does that a lot. protect people. she doesn't even realize it's because of the goodness in her, i think... at least not consciously. not many people have told her it's what's so admireable about her (see, if i knew her, i wouldn't shut up about it...). but she cares so much about people that she got duped by that one four fangs guy.
she trusted and loved mikio.
so that she feels that way with taigen... jesus christ. it's not that she forgot or maybe even forgave him for his abuse, it's that they've both changed. time and time again mizu saves his ass... and taigen time and time again grows fonder towards her. it's insane. i love them. so much.
i just I LOVE IT!!! i love this show. i love taigen i love mizu i love akemi i love ringo i love swordfather i love seki. such beautifully written characters and relationships.... i'm going insane
Bonk
This one is canon UwU
In another universe, Mizu and Master Eiji enjoy a treat at Ringo's diner. 🍨🍺
"There may be a demon in you, but there is more" - Swordfather
I really love and respect Swordfather. He is a good man who can see the good in Mizu, even when her actions don't align with his own, he still see her beyond that. He stays by her side and guides her. His presence is very important to Mizu. He's a well-written character.
