And to think it was with blood that this great establishment rose to power over this city, and it was with blood that they have fallen so low. Seeing what was once a prosperous city now in disarray and filled with paranoid creatures who don't know they're creatures really adds to this sad scenery.

the npcs you gain throughout that gather in the cathedral ward and they all have interesting interactions with you and with each other (like arianna and adella)

The characters behind the doors, and the background they give, the man that sounds like he's beating something (or someone) and the fearful woman for example

That would all the statues littered about. If I remember correctly, it's not until you arrive to the Cathedral that you start seeing statues of Eldrich entities. So since statues are made to honor something, you can tell that the denizens of Yharnam venerate Eldrich abominations.

The incense that is said to protect it from the beasts! You can see it hanging on the ceiling, it took a couple times before I noticed it there.
You guys are bloody amazing! Now I have the problem that there is too much to include and my prof is gonna kill me if I write another 2k words about how great Bloodborne is :’D
