If you were to get injured in battle, Poe wouldn’t think, he’d just run
The battle around him wouldn’t matter. He just needs to get to you.
Once he’s by your side he’d let his training take over. He knows he can’t afford to be emotional. Your life depends on him thinking things through one step at a time.
Chances are the squad would be pulling out by then and Poe doesn’t have it in him to argue
He’d start to patch you up enough to move you, all the while talking to you, partly on the chance you’re awake, and partly to settle his own fears
He’d pick you up himself and carry you to the nearest ship
Once you’re back at base, he doesn’t leave you side
He tells the medical droids what happened in every detail that might be needed to save you
The only reason he doesn’t sit in on the operation is because Leia ordered him not to
As you’re recovering he sits in the med bay the entire time
He gives his report to BB-8 who then gives it to Leia
It’s only after you wake up does he finally smile again, and relief washes over him
He doesn’t give you a lecture about being careful, or tell you how worried he’s been. He’s just happy you’re alright.
Poe is willing to sacrifice just about everything for the Resistance, but the absolute last thing he’s willing to lose, is you
Please don’t read these unless you’ve seen Star Wars The Force Awakens!
These are a few headcanons I came up with after seeing the film about the character Rey.
As a child, Rey was forced to work for Unkar Plutt (the figure who assesses the scrap she brings in every day), similar to Anakin Skywalker’s situation where he was forced to work for Watto. Plutt told her that he was doing her a favor – helping her to survive the harsh conditions of Jakku, while giving her food and water. At first she was upset about being left behind by her family, but sought to work hard and convinced herself that she needed to do the job that was asked of her in order to get through.
As Rey grew older and prettier, many passing figures, especially men, took an interest in her. She strongly dislikes being touched or handled, having heard passing stories from travelers about how some of the women were treated. She began to change her daily attire and in some cases would add extra dirt to her face and clothes in an attempt to make men look past her. When one visitor got too handsy with her while she was polishing her scrap parts, she took action and fought back against him, which resulted in her receiving fewer rations for the day. This didn’t deter her, as she sought to practice self defense after hours, in case anything else should happen.
While she’s initially wary of BB-8′s appearance, she is secretly happy to have someone/something to talk to, other than Unkar or the other scavengers. Initially she contemplated turning in the droid for more rations to sustain herself, especially when Unkar presented her with 60. However, after hearing BB’s story about finding his master and starting to enjoy the droid’s presence, she declined, telling herself that she had survived worse days. She felt for the droid who clearly had a strong bond with his master and realized that she couldn’t take the selfish route.
While cleaning the scrap parts she retrieved every day, Rey would eavesdrop on the visitors and their gossip about other worlds, galaxies, and old legends. This is how she learned about Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker. She liked the idea of them fighting for a cause, wishing she could leave Jakku for some kind of mission or quest.
Unkar taught Rey a few things about parts, mainly so she’d know what to look for while scavenging through the wreckage. She became well versed in various mechanics of ships and vehicles, figuring out their functions (or former, in many cases), which explains why she had a good understanding of Han’s ship and repairing it.
Rey was suspicious of Finn, mainly due to the fact that he was wearing Poe’s old Resistance jacket when he came to town. She was defensive around him because he kept trying to make a grab for her hand like some of the male figures she encountered in the past, which she initially misinterpreted as him trying to be forward with her. Eventually, she relaxes and learns that he just wants to do the right thing after serving the First Order.
Rey expressed skepticism about being powerful like Luke, especially since she thought that an orphaned girl turned scavenger couldn’t possess the power that Luke had been rumored to have. The vision she had of Kylo Ren while touching the Lightsaber terrified her, especially since she had heard a few things about him in passing while on Jakku. Some of the traders were especially wary after the massacre on the village, which Rey heard about after coming back from another trip to a wreckage the next morning.
