a nightmare about babies caused junhee to awake with a startle. however, as reality settled in, she realized it hadn’t all been a nightmare. for the last few days, she had tossed and turned with the knowledge that she was pregnant - a simple night of fun turned into something with much greater consequences. how had it happened? she still couldn’t wrap her mind around it. she groaned softly. she had to go see him today and tell him. that was the part that she dreaded the most. the easiest thing about their “relationship” had been the whole “sleep together but don’t let emotions get tangled in”. it was great. they both got what they wanted without feeling the need to cling to the other.
slowly, she got up to get dressed, pulling on a flowy dress to at least appear somewhat cute. maybe looking good would bring a higher probability of acceptance from the male. an hour later, she was grabbing her keys to head over to his place. the once short drive felt like an eternity. fear and dread seemed to loom over her as every possible negative thought entered her mind. “junhee, be positive,” she told herself with a nod as she parked the car and made her way to the familiar front door.
a deep breath and she lifted her fist, knocking on the door not once but three times.
