from the Syansi/Kardasi dictionaries ive been adding to, a new phrase: itozeý maelin from itozeý = courageous + maelin = day hatch, dawn, morning

I imagine itozeý maelin [a courageous day-hatch] as a morning greeting suitable for a professional situation amongst peers of equal status, or for your friends in the office. Official use in some circumstances, more formal than for close friends.

more Syansi/Kardasi words: (medical)

I am just going to assume humanoid aliens have some sort of heart/blood circulation system- might not be like ours but there is a path through which it goes to the heart and back out. Let’s just assume...

so first I started with ito (heart) and tola (path).

bc I’m combining many words when they overlap I’m also assuming it would be like a conjunction where , with knowledge of the words used in its construction, the word is shortened,

so dan’ (to home) + ito (path) + tola (road) = dan’i’tola = which is a vein (a path that returns to the home of the heart)

mat’ (away from) + ito + tola = mat’i’tola = an artery (a path away from the heart)

and with ro = stream and pi = small

ro’i’tola = blood vessel

ro’pi’tola = capillary

working on a medical fic that needs a bunch of new words, working off the (giant) noxziconsortium Syansi w/some additions of the tinsnip/vyc Kardasi dictionary. Post for words im using 👇🏼I’ll add to it as more goes on

Right now in this fic I’m viewing the huge Syansi as more of a modern language, and the Kardasi as more of an older language, or perhaps more of the language of the poets, artists, or coming from the early Hebitians. I’m combining from both to make words and phrases for my fic but I will show my work here for all words.... take it or leave it :) just having some fun

I love the word “communique,” it sounds so beautiful to my ears so I wanted to use it. it’s an official communication from the state, so from the Syansi // arkan = the ever present Cardassian “State” + taú (v) = write, record

while I find the apostrophes that have been used in a lot of kardasi fic sometimes difficult to decipher, I do love them in construction of words. and the fact that the apostrophes have been in use for a while makes the connection of them in word contruction seem less lazy to me lol. I’m jamming a lot of words together to make new ones but I guess that’s how it goes even in my own language...

arkan + taú becomes

arkan’taú = communique (official written communication of the State)
