backstory: 

Madison has always been a showstopper. Performing is her passion which is no surprise considering it’s in the McCarthy blood. Attached at the hip, she and her brother have been putting on a show from a young age. Their parents made for a great audience – at least when they were around. With no intention of giving up their own careers as performers, the twins’ mom and dad were often distant or absent.

Mason was (and still is) everything to Madison. As twins, they were destined to be close. Having their parents so frequently out of the picture strengthened that bond and Madison grew especially protective over her brother. So protective it could be considered smothering at times. As kids, they did everything together and her relationship with Mason became her number one priority. He would always come first; nobody could come between them.

She and Mason were as attached as ever as they went through their high school years, even going as far as both becoming cheerleaders together. This afforded them a certain amount of popularity, but none of that stopped the teasing comments on their close relationship or the stupid incest jokes. But nevertheless, Madison was determined to keep the positivity going and before they knew it, the twins had graduated and were onto college.

Madison made it very clear to her brother early on in the college-applying process - she had absolutely no intention of going anywhere that he wouldn’t be. She couldn’t just abandon him! Which was how they came to settle on Ginsburg University. Madison was excited - college was a whole new adventure for the two of them! But she could tell that Mason, on the other hand, was getting antsy. These were their college years and it was perhaps finally time for the two of them to build some identities outside of each other - the only problem was that Madison had no idea where to start.
