+ SUNA / THUNDER RIVER
"Oh, I think he did not like that," Sylvi calls to her aunt in Norse as the vampire rounds on them. His friend stumbles back from Suna's blow and Sylvi scrambles in the icy mud, the shouts and jeers around them drowned out but the thunder in her ears. They hadn't expected her to launch herself at them right after her aunt. She thinks that's why the soldiers had laughed when they saw she was there beside Suna, who'd already proven herself in these brawls. But using that to their advantage meant taking the vampires they were paired off against by surprise. At least for a minute before they quickly caught on that Sylvi was just as much a fighter as her aunt (though perhaps not as scary to behold).
She doesn't think as the vampire charges, teeth snarling. She thinks of her mother's words, urging her and her sister to use their size to their advantage. She thinks of how Skadi would tell them that they could take down a mountain if they believed they could. If they were smart. So in lieu of any weapons, Sylvi throws herself at him, like a ball of fury, she barrels into him with enough force to knock them both over. She scrambles to dig her knees into his ribcage as her fists fly. And she's suddenly very grateful that her aunt had taken the larger vampire as hers claw at her with sharp nails, drawing blood along her arms. She shouts a string of Norse curses as her fists connect with their face and anywhere she can reach, trying to keep them down as she hears Suna dealing wither own leech. @dxrkenedheights
