He was ready to board the quinjet after the seemingly awful field mission experience he had had. It was painful enough to have to make Steve Rogers, fucking Captain America go back and fix his mistakes, but, he had, for all intents and purposes settled down in the plane, ready to accept his defeat and pray that Steve just got his own hands on the container with the Obelisk. It was before he even made it back that something shifted inside of him, like the boiling blood in his veins had finally found an inner peace. And, for a split-second he felt normal.
Just as soon as the feeling came, it went away, bringing on his old set of problems, his mind running much too quickly, his incessant need to be moving, and, his body working overtime to contain all the pent up energy inside of him. Be he even realized what had happened, he was standing in his seat, looking around at his team before giving that childish grin. “I’m me again.” He stated, happier than ever before, thoughts rushing to his head as quickly as his brain would work.

He was clear across water, the Atlantic Ocean to be exact, when he felt the power surge through him, like it was nothing at all to be running this speed, much faster than anything he had ever experienced before.
He didn’t know if it was because he knew he had to be there for Sylvie, after the promise, or because of something else, but Julian was going over 380 miles per second, zooming over the ocean, and joining his feet to land in just the timespan of a few seconds. It felt incredible, and he wanted to live in the moment, but he also knew he had Sylvie to take care of. Hitting the dead streets of New York, he continued to fly by buildings, entering SHIELD’s hidden base without any problem and looking everywhere for Sylvie in those last spare seconds he had. Surveying nearly the entire underground area, he finally caught glimpse of her and settled down with one lingering breath. “Sylvie, the wave’s been reversed—”
