The newest set of brooms arrives on the Wizarding market, the successor to the Firebolt, the Air Devil! A departure from classic broom designs, it replaces the wooden frame with a sleek metal casing. Gone are the fragile straws that are easily bent or broken, opting instead for a unique, shell-like covering that contains the core of this beast of a broom. Not much else is known about the Air Devil, but with it’s bold defiance of convention and a bright red color to finish it off, it is certain that these brooms will be making scene this Quidditch season. Harry: ... Hermione: ... Harry: ...It's a vacuum. Hermione: It's a vacuum. Harry: It looks like a Dirt Devil. Hermione: It looks like whoever made these just painted "Air" over "Dirt." Harry: ... Hermione: ... Ron: Bloody hell guys, have you seen the new broom?! It looks absolutely wicked!
finally got around to watching amok time
Spock’s unbridled emotions at Jim being alive were too cute eeeee
also he cares so much for Jim that his plaktow was cured when he thought he was gone so presh
that is some messed up gender dynamics, like all the talk of owning the woman ugh ugh ugh no. get out of here with that shit please and thank you
but the best part was T’Pring, like damn girl, that is some stone cold logic and I LOVE it, like she knew what she wanted and she made sure that no matter what she was gunna get it, I am all here for competent lady vulcans yes please

UMEDA HOKUTO
OHMYGOD you read it too???? I cannot express to you how much joy this brings me! Also, Umedaaaaaa he's such a troll (my favorite part with him is the "just keep dancing" thing where he whips out the samba outfit for NO REASON but to cheer her up haha)
got to the episode where the crew get stuck back in the 60's.
the concept of this episode is really interesting. I like the theorizing they have to do about time-travel
so they sort of predicted manned Saturn-flights in the near future? I think that might have been a bit too ambitious for reality.
that fight scene in the film room. Kirk literally just throws himself at them! And then he hangs from the doorway. Bless.
there is definitely weird science going on here with how they send Captain Christopher back and he doesn't remember anything.
I also love how whenever the ship is rocking they throw themselves all over the set. 1 - doesn't their gravity stabilize these things? 2 - what were the stage directions like for these scenes? I'm just imagining the director like "LEFT! Now everybody, RIGHT! Somebody fall out of their chair! Someone else grab onto the wall! Really sell it folks!"
(side bar: what gets me about this show is how quiet and thoughtful it is. This might just be a product of the times, like maybe shows in the 60's were just slower, and now shows tend to be more action. But I like the more story-telley quality.)
EDIT: I'm on the next episode and holy FUCK what is with Kirk's shirt? What the hell is he wearing????? I'm cracking up whyyyy
got to the episode where Kirk is sent to a planet to battle a lizard man.
the Gorn is adorable, lookit it's little outfit! hurrah for old-school special effects!
the fighting in this show is so bizarre. everything happens so slowly and gently, it looks absolutely surreal, like some weird kind of dance. i love it.
(i don't understand why the Gorn doesn't just chomp down on Kirk when they're canoodling. i get it from a prop standpoint, but not a logic one)
random observation: Uhura's face is gorgeous and they need to keep giving her all the close ups.
things I've noticed about how os-star trek ladies look:
they have the most awesome hairdos, like have y'all seen Janice Rand? she's got mad skills to do that every day. banging.
what the heck is with their outfits? they are just barely skirts, like they have to have matching colored bloomers? why???
what is with their boobs? did they have different kinds of bras in the 60's to get that weird slightly coney and high-up shape?
Also, there are significantly not enough ladies in a ladies-to-guys ratio.
Hey
Hello, random music meme. The song that comes up when I press shuffle is... Of Verona's "Dark In My Imagination"
Uh. This one is pretty straightforward. My favorite line is pretty much:
It's dark in my imagination (I don't want to think about it now)
