“You think?” she laughed quietly, feeling suddenly bashful at the fact. “It’s normal back home to have a wolf or owl or fox. Sometimes even bunnies or squirrels, but there’s not much they can do to help you with.” They weren’t meaty enough to hunt and their pelts were too small so the village tended to leave them be for the most part. “My big brother has these biiiiiig wolves. Dire wolves, I think he called them? They’re massive! Huge sweethearts, though. I think you’d love them.”
Her heart gave a swell as Black Ops approached, feeling proud that they trusted her enough to give her a chance. Cerulean eyes softened as she crouched there, drawing her knees to her chest, and allowing them to get comfortable around her. “Nice to meet you,” she near whispered as not to startle them with loud noises.
The pitter patter of more friends approaching told her that her volume wouldn’t really matter in the long run. “They’re all so sweeet! What precious little babies. All so well behaved, too.” Assuming Black Ops was done with her -- and not wanting to come on too strong and scare the poor thing -- she lowered her hand and watched the approaching procession.
Travis rising to his feet, spurred her to do the same, slowly rising before trotting eagerly after him. It wouldn’t do to get left behind, after all. As much as she wanted to make friends, she would have placed her bets that straying too far from him would only spell disaster.
“I think I can die happy now,” Crystal joked, fingers curling in the back of his shirt trying to stay close to his side lest she get lost amongst the chaos. “I’d love to have a house like this. I think Lance would have my head, though. He can handle Beast and Aurora but anymore and he might feel overwhelmed.” She was different. A house so lively and filled with fuzzy friends was her dream home. “You ever need a petsitter or someone to just come by and play with them -- I’m your girl, 1000%.” Now she’d just need to remember all of their names...
