A devious smirk spread across Yuri’s face as he watched Yugo’s cheeks heat up, a light snicker leaving his lips as the mechanic gave a rather pathetic attempt to brush off the unintentional sinful threat. It was actually quite amusing how easily flustered Yugo could get these days, but maybe that had something to do with the fact that Yuri was onto his little secret~

That was the thing with Yugo when it came to crushes… he couldn’t be subtle even if he tried. It was either that or Yuri was a lot more observant than he realised.

“Well, it’s hard to get my mind out of the gutter when you’re the one who keeps putting it there.” Yuri teased with a light chuckle before stealing another chocolate and popping it into his mouth, letting out a satisfied hum as it melted in his mouth. “So…” he continued once his mouth was free of any food, “do you threaten all the boys who try to steal your chocolate, or is it just because I’m not a certain tomato haired entertainer that just so happens to be taken~?”

Despite Yuri finding out the truth behind Yugo’s hidden crush, the mechanic had nothing to worry about; Yuri wasn’t planning on telling anyone. Well, not yet anyway. However, he was feeling rather generous to at least keep his voice down. After all, who knows just how much of their little gossip Yugo’s housemates might accidentally hear~?

“With the way you constantly bat your eyelashes at him, I’m surprised Yuya and Yuto haven’t figured out your dirty little secret~”

Rin frowned as Yugo confronted her, her orange eyes filled with concern for her partner. She wasn’t entirely sure what Yugo was getting at, but she didn’t like the fact that it made her nervous. What did Yugo have to tell her that was apparently so bad and ‘hardcore’ that she would think he was crazy of all possible things?

“Yugo…? What’s the matter?” She asked, frowning slightly as she took a seat next to him, gently placing a hand on his shoulder and giving it a light squeeze. “You know you can tell me anything and I won’t judge, right?

“What is it…? What do you want to tell me?”

She stared at her best friend in surprise, honestly touched by the gesture. Thanks to living in the Commons, getting gifts for Christmas or birthdays was a luxury the kids o the orphanage never had much of a chance to experience. Rin honestly thought her birthday would be the same – she hadn’t been expecting gifts at all. So to think that Yugo actually managed to get her something in the slums of the Commons streets was enough to make the teen rather emotional, though she did her best to not let it show.

“You… You did? Aww Yugo… you shouldn’t have…!” She placed a hand over her heart as she gave her best friend a sweet smile, excited to see what the birthday gift actually was.

A soft snicker left the genetic biologist’s lips as Yugo whined about ruining his ‘smolder’. If that was what Yugo called a smolder then oh sweet God help us all because it just wasn’t doing it for Yuri. Considering how many times the two had secretly met up with each other to give into their curious desires, you would think Yugo would have a better idea on how to get Yuri more excited – even if they hated each other’s guts.

“Honestly, if you thought that was a smolder, then you’re gonna have to work on it some more.” Yuri smirked, pulling away after the aggressive kiss had used to ‘ruin’ his partner’s smolder as he lay on his preferred side of his bed. What even were they at this point? Frenemies with benefits? 

No… No that definitely didn’t fit, because Yuri didn’t see Yugo as a friend at all.

They had loathed each other for so long but kept finding their way back to one another. Maybe it was just for the great hate sex or maybe it was for the strangely… comforting company. Yuri honestly didn’t know, but he didn’t feel the need to question it. There was no point turning something he found to be an amazing stress-reliever into something so complicated.

Besides, Yugo was just experimenting. It didn’t mean anything.

“It’s gonna take more than some stare to try and turn me on,” he purred lightly, trailing his fingertips down Yugo’s chest. “Surely you can try harder than that~”

Yugo’s doubtful words caused Ray to frown as she gently placed a hand on his shoulder. It hurt her to see Yugo act this way, especially when he couldn’t be further from the truth. It wasn’t the first time Yugo had doubted his feeling like this, but Ray couldn’t stand to see it happen again.

“Of course not.” She tried to reassure him, giving his shoulder a light squeeze as she smiled gently at him, “You haven’t seen her the way I have; the way Rin looks at you when you’re looking somewhere else...? She’s never looked at anyone else that way. You mean the whole world to her, Yugo.”

It was true, and that was what made this situation that much easier than both Rin and Yugo were making it out to be. Both had feelings for each other, but were too shy to confess in case the other didn’t feel the same way. Everyone could see that they were crazy for each other - everyone except Yugo and Rin.

“I can promise you that Rin feels the same way, okay? I just know it.”

Yuya woke up to a bright light shining down on him, making it hard to see. He slowly sat up, squinting slightly as he put a hand to his head with a soft grunt. Ugh his head was pounding; he was going to kill the others for suggesting this was the best way to go back to the future.

…

Wait.

Yuya’s crimson eyes widened as he adjusted to the light, gazing around the room to find out where he was. There was a computer to the side, with a bunch of wires hooked up that connected to a capsule, big enough for him to use. It was in that moment as a memory of the past came back to him that Yuya recognised where he was — in the same laboratory he had been sent to the past in.

He… He was home.

Yuya couldn't believe it was finally over. After taking down Eve and putting G.O.D in it’s rightful place, Yuya and his counterparts finally decided to return to the future. The world was safe; they were safe.

After finally coming to terms with the fact that he was finally home, the Phantom finally got to his feet just as he heard someone enter the room, and when he looked up to see who it was, a bright smile crossed his lips.

“Yuto! Yuri!” He called out for his two friends, making his way over to them. “Can you believe it? We actually pulled that mission off. I can’t wait to see my dad after everything that’s happened and—” Yuya paused mid-ramble to find another boy standing with them with eyes of cyan gems and hair of blue and yellow. “Whoa! Sorry! I didn’t see you there!” Yuya laughed softly before trailing off, his confusion quickly settling in.

Hang on… how long had that boy been standing there?

“…Uh…” The Phantom let out a nervous laugh, glancing at his two friends who just stared back at him in confusion… or was that concern in their eyes? He couldn’t tell.

Once again his eyes focused on the stranger before him, tilting his head slightly as he tried to remember who this guy was. Was he an old friend or someone who had just found the place? Yuya didn’t know; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t seem to remember him.

“Who are you?”
