Trying to do more short form fanfic I can post on here~!

Ive been working on a fic for the Book of the Wyld Werewolf AU I was talking about, featuring a regional Silver Fang King handling his marital fuck ups very poorly

And a short piece about a Chain Devil NPC from a Dungeon World game I ran set in Sigil

Trying really hard to refine expressing character and setting swiftly and clearly in far far shorter pieces of prose

I wouldn't call it TTRPG prep but I'm rotating a Werewolf the Apocalypse worldbuilding project - the old Book of the Wyld pitches at the back the idea of an alternate world where the Wyld is out of control

And I kinda love it! The idea of what a world where the Wyrm is in decline looks like, how the Garou might be different (it pitches the idea of Neanderthal Kinfolk 'helping to produce a new breed of Garou') as well as potentially entire new breeds of Fera

And I'm just a sucker for a good What If question honestly

I've especially got some big ideas about changes to Garou Society and what the Black Spiral Dancer analogue Wyld-Tainted Garou are like ✨️🐺

For those that don't know, the game Destiny 2 just got its last update yesterday. I was there early in the series during House of Wolves in D1, and used the series to spend time with my partner before I could immigrate to the US. It's immensely bittersweet to see the series end, so I felt compelled to write a little something. This is the start of an in-universe religious text for a Hive God OC I've had for like a decade, and hopefully it walks that fine line between comprehensible and obtuse!

THE UNSATISFACTION OF KAROK DREAD CLIMBER

- As inscribed upon Traitor Leather Tomes by Nurlat Statar the Refathomed (Recovered by Hal Vanos of the Revenant Host, Sworn to Blaire, Celebrant of Chains Translated by Ofani of the Revenant Host, Sworn to Orpheus, Celebrant of Chains)

Karok Larvae is born Mud, and is unrestrained. Compassion, Loyalty, and Love tug the tendons in his arm as he uses the whet stone that is TRUTH to sharpen his edge. He spends his Eras in Proving, then in Worship, and then in Obedience-Through-Lordship. He emerges imago into the Court of Mud and clads himself in Chitin Strategy. He defines opposition to Gravel, Fault, and Flood along with Iron-Who-Aren't.

War is elevated on the only planet to exist. He takes his first wife, and devours her split remains so everything she was may become a step in his glorious journey. (Her flesh is incorporated as one page in this book to balance the sin of the WITCH UPPER with kind affection.)

A Time passes, during which Karok Knight sees the flaws of King Mud, and slits him over his banquet. He takes Queen Mud, she who now rules the Engine Of Gentle Winds, casting a shadow over the Covenhalls in War Stone Willing, as his second wife, and starts spawning.

With new vision of smiting the fear that consumes every Tribe – that of the Iron-Who-Aren't who do not walk like us and do not talk like us and do not think like us but who, when we are brave, can die like us – Karok Ascendant amalgamates with catastrophic violence on the endless replenishment of fluid-shells until his philosophies can do only but seek the truest oppositions.
