Street Wolves: Turbo Edition Custom Music

With a synthwave inspired ttrpg setting like Street Wolves taking place in 1987 the one thing it was missing was custom music.

Thanks to the Kickstarter, that's going to happen! I'm super excited to be working with a spectacular composer @strautmaskreplica.

And since the Kickstarter is doing super well, we're going to get a full EPs worth of songs!

The Kickstarter is ending in four days. If you want to get these tracks, you can back at PDF level and above and get them as part of your rewards OR you can get the thematic USB cassette tape which will have them pre-loaded onto it.

Just toying around with something a little more in the style of 80s synthpop for the instrumentals. The chords and the two counterpoint lines were made with a clone vst of the Roland JX-8P. The drums were sampled from a Yamaha RX-5. The only instrument that wasn’t trying to replicate vintage equipment was the bassline/solo instrument.

This is very much a rough draft. I just came up with a couple simple lines for each instrument for the chorus and the verse, and I actually did quantize everything with this one. But I didn’t bother rendering out individual tracks and doing any equalizing or tweaking. I just did a quick test mix of the lines and rendered all the tracks together, and did some quick balancing of the overall volume and added a little reverb and warmth to it.

Street Wolves, the ttrpg setting I've been working on for two (plus) years is finally out! It's been a passion project of mine and I hope you dig it. It's for Savage Worlds, which is a great platform for the type of adventures that you can play in Street Wolves. Street Wolves is a synthwave and neo-noir inspired, retro-future setting. The players fight the rot just under the surface of a neon lit late 1980s. I've got the character Bubbles mostly laid out in InDesign, that means I can start working on putting all her ranks into the document.
