had a long day, at least i'm in your arms

It was a tiring day for Kurusu Syo. He’d had to do practice for his new solo and rehearsals for the action drama he’s starring in at the same day.

He went into the common area to rest his legs for a bit before he could go on. Ren was sitting in one of the couches.

“Welcome back Ochibi-chan,” greeted Ren.

Syo was too tired to retort at the nickname and immediately plopped to the empty space next to Ren.

Ren immediately caught the smaller man in his arms and let him rest on his lap.

“Ochibi-chan?”

Syo didn’t move and gave out a light snore.

He must’ve been tired from his activities

Ren then gently adjusted Syo’s position on his lap in a way that Syo could relax easier. He then tenderly stroked the smaller man’s head while humming softly until Ren drifted off a few moments after.

If the others saw, they simply did not mind. Maybe a certain tall blond would’ve taken pictures here and there and called them cute. Either way, it was a peaceful moment.

78: “you look beautiful, no matter what”

Syo lies with his head nearly leaning over the end of his hotel bed. He’s just woken up, along with everyone else, and is still on the edge of sleep, cuddling his pillow. He looks down at Ren sitting on the floor, who’s skillfully applying his makeup with a compact mirror. 

They had been left alone when the other Starish guys stepped out to bring back food, except Tokiya had gone and taken his chance to steal the shower instead, explaining why Ren couldn’t do his makeup in the bathroom. 

With nothing better to do, Syo watches him. He realizes he’s basically staring, but they’re dating now, so he’s kind of allowed to. Before, it would have been embarrassing, especially with how smug Ren gets when he’s feeling playful-- something Syo knows well, having fueled a competitive tension between them prior in their career together. But now, when Ren glances his way and catches him staring, it’s not as embarrassing anymore. 

“If you’re tired, why don’t you try to sleep some more?” 

“’S too bright in here.” Syo makes a point of covering his face from the sunlight seeping in through the window. “The guys will be back soon, anyway.”

Ren opens something that looks like a pen and starts lining his eyes with it. Syo cringes, realizing what it is. They’ve had their makeup done for shows before, but Syo honestly couldn’t imagine doing half of it himself. 

“How do ya do that without pokin’ your eye out?”

Ren lightly chuckles. “Practice.”

He applies the liner in the corner of his eye before also doing his waterline. 

“That looks painful,” Syo says, shoving his face into his pillow to hide from the sight.

Ren gives him another chuckle at that. 

“It’s not. But, you know what they say-- beauty is pain.”

It doesn’t have to be, Syo thinks. At least not for Ren, with his light blue eyes that contrast well with his naturally glowing skin. If a blemish ever pops up on his face, it still doesn’t ruin what he has. Even his hair is beautiful since he takes extra care of it, making sure it’s healthy, soft and always lying just right to accentuate his features nicely. It’s really no surprise to Syo that one of Ren’s strong suits is modeling. 

“...You’re beautiful no matter what, though.”

 Wait.

He didn’t mean to say it aloud-- Syo’s mouth was running before he realized, probably because he’s still half asleep.

“What was that?”

His brain catching up with him, Syo suddenly jerks and sits up. He’d still been talking into his pillow, but it was pretty obvious what he was saying. 

“You heard me.”

 “Hmm, I don’t think I did.” Ren puts away his supplies, casting it off to the side. “I think you’ll have to repeat yourself~.”

“Ren,” Syo groans, hiding in the pillow again. 

Actually being vocally romantic is still kind of embarassing for Syo, as it turns out.

He feels a dip in the bed and the weight of Ren leaning over his back. Hands pull at his shoulders, and Syo hesitantly lets himself be flipped over. He tries very hard to ignore the warmth he can feel in his face.

Ren lies down and cuddles into Syo’s side. “Don’t leave me hanging, Shorty.”

“I just- I said...I said you’re beautiful, okay?” Syo crosses his arms, stubbornly refusing to look at Ren.

“You’re so cute, Syo.” Ren chuckles and twirls a piece of Syo’s blonde hair with a finger. “...Kiss me?”

The second part is a whisper, meant for only Syo to hear. He was planning on ignoring him for longer, but the softness in Ren’s voice is enticing-- how could he not indulge him? He’d also like to kiss that smirk off his face. 

So he does, pulling him in by the shirt.

Syo: Wait. Did you call me Syo?

Ren: Yep.

Syo: . . .

Syo: I-I. . . You. . !

Ren: I love you too, Syo.

Syo: Sh-Shut up!!
