Hello! Sorry but I saw a post you commented on on another blog which was about your epilepsy. I have epilepsy to and I've been having trouble with tablets. Would you mind giving me some advice? Sorry if this is private!
Oh I’ve been having trouble for four years but I think most people do. I’ve been on Zonegran since October and it’s working well for me. I’ve only had one seizure since starting and I’m still only on the starting dose which is positive! Some sickness but the tiredness and binge eating I had before has settled. Lamictal gave me a rash but it’s supposed to be ideal for girls, Epilim was hell and made me binge eat and pile on so much fat (it’s renowned for that), Keppra was grand but stopped working and Tegretol made me incredibly anxious, tired, made it so difficult to stay at a healthy weight and began to effect my heart - but I think that’s really quite rare and I’m getting tests for cardiac syncope too which could be related.
Doctors know a lot but they don’t know everything. Don’t be afraid to politely “argue” and make your voice heard if you’re not happy with the care you’re receiving.
