Should We Intervene in Syria?
If I’m falling off a cliff, beaten and bruised, barely breathing and holding on to the edge, about to fall to my death. I have my family and young children with me as well- people I would do absolutely anything to protect. Someone offers me a hand, noone else- just this one person- I will take that hand. I don’t care whom it belongs to. What’s the worst that can happen? I die? My family dies? We’re already going to die. But there is a chance that this actually helps me, so I’ll take that chance.
You say- take other Arabs’ help or Muslims. I’d love to- however Arab and Muslim countries alike have left us out in the cold. We don’t have other options. Beggars can’t be choosers and we’ve been forced to beg.
This is essentially what’s happening in Syria and saying you don’t want war because you want “peace” is not helping. As a HUMAN BEING you should have compassion for all those dying in Syria and want to help. Don’t think you are helping Syria by saying no to intervention because I promise you, you are not. All you’re dong is allowing tyrants across the globe have permission to chemically gas and kill thousands of innocent men, women, and children at a time without any repercussions. Do you just want to wait until 6 million innocent people are killed to realize that this is strangely familiar to the Holocaust and then say “Oh man this isn’t right, maybe we should do something to help”. Or will you still be ignorantly saying “well its not our battle, lets just let innocent people die, i mean i still have my first world luxury and the war so far away and doesn’t primarily effect me so idc”.
