Hey guys, I know it’s been about two and a half years, but it’s finally here, chapter 20!

I didn’t put the amount of words because I...didn’t check (sorry) and I’m away from home so I can’t check my laptop. But when I finished writing this chapter, the doc was 30 and a half pages, if that helps give you an idea of the length!

I’m going to get it to you as soon as I can, anon. I promise you that I haven’t forgotten or abandoned it. I think of it every day and feel really guilty for making people wait. I love that you enjoy the story and that you took the time to send this. I have the best readers on that story and I promise not to let you guys down! I have been facing some personal struggles that leave me kind of wary of spending a lot of time alone or in silence (which is what I need to write haha) so I haven’t made a lot of progress, to be honest. But I know that’s not an excuse and I’m working hard to get to a head state where I can finish it. We’re close to the end!

Side note: I just realized the fic broke 3k notes last week and I’m so honestly grateful and floored by the support you guys have given me. Thank you so much :’) I’m truly unworthy and I love yall so much and hope I can come through with a good ending haha.

idk if anyone is still here for syrm updates but I’m sorry life is like a speeding train and I’m stuck to the tracks

basically I have a new job and I’m thinking of moving to another country so there’s all that business to deal with and my dysphoria is back after I ignored it for long enough and I caught a nasty cold from aforementioned new job because I could hear people sneezing and coughing through the office

just uh. gimme a bit more time. i promise I haven’t abandoned this fic again. i’m just very worn out and overwhelmed

So I just wanted to update my patient readers about SYRM one more time :) I now have 37 pages of an update and have sent them to my beta! She likes them and no major changes are suggested so far, which is great news for those of you still interested in updates from my slow ass (ty to those precious few lmao). I have two important scenes left to write. In other words, the chapter is soon. I feel positive and happy about the fic for the first time in ages.

I don't post regularly and most days I feel like my fics are only "okay," so to the people who support my writing, I just want to express my gratitude. Again. And always! <3

And to the sweeties who volunteered to beta, I'll be in touch. I love you.

to be very honest, i was very worried that this chapter 20 update wasn’t even good for two reasons:

i was worried my writing had gone rusty or stale

absolutely no one was commenting on the content of the fic, and more on my miraculous return from the grave

anyway, thank you dear, for validating my fragile heart and boosting my self esteem as a writer. i really appreciate it. like most creatives, i live off eating up good feedback.

i’m so sorry but i have to admit that i laughed when i first got this message because i received it within minutes of posting chapter 20, and all i could think was “well, that was fast”

i can’t believe that after at least one year of radio silence, you guys are still on it as fast as when i was updating regularly…you guys never cease to amaze.

anyway, i’m very humbled by your dedication to syrm, and i’m grateful for your message! to tell the truth, i was a little worried about not having as much reader engagement since it’s been roughly two and a half years since my last update, and no one would care after all this time…but your immediate message really cheered me up!

i know i disappointed you guys when i left syrm abandoned, but there was always a small part of me that thought “maybe i will come back to this one day.” so thanks for never giving up on me! i’m happy you guys are thrilled for the continuation of this story, it’s all an author can hope for.

let me know if there’s anything you guys want to see in the coming chapters! ;) i have the ending more or less though out, but of course there’s always wiggle room before it’s written (and i’ll warn you guys now that it’ll probably take me a good month to write chapter 21…my pace is very slow right now, sorry. i’m working on writing more often, but also 21 will be a big update; possibly bigger than 20 at thirty and a half pages)

I do have something like that planned! I’m actually gonna stretch the ending into three chapters but I guess I’m having trouble figuring out what specific scenes everyone would like

I know I’m the author and the story is my choice but I would like to satisfy my readers who have remained loyal after all this time so if there’s any specific scenes ppl want just let me know and I’ll try to see if it fits into the ending I have planned
