I just accepted a librarian position in the United Arab Emirates, and we have to get married before we leave!
Problem is, we have no money until I’ve moved to Sharjah and started the job, and we have so much we have to do before we leave!
So since we can’t really bring much of anything with us, and we don’t have the time for the traditional pre-marriage festivities (Stag & Doe, Bridal Shower, etc), we’re asking our friends, family, and generous strangers to help us get to the altar by donating to our gofundme campaign!
If you can’t donate, please share this! We’ve been together over 7 years, and engaged for 2 years but kept putting our wedding plans on hold till “we have the money” and that’s no longer an option.

Anyone have any last minute hints or tips about systems librarianship and Makerspaces?
(especially makerspaces? I have this like, platonic ideal of a makerspace in my head... but ACK! They also want associated ideas about Kid's Discovery Areas and Teen Zones.... Sorry, I'm kinda freaking out... I really want this job!!!)

Tumblarians and non-tumblarians alike! I come to you seeking reading recommendations for aspiring systems librarians! What book/article/essay/think piece should everyone working with library systems today have read?
I’m a Systems Librarian in a Government Library in the DC Metro Region. This is my fourth tattoo, but my first Library themed one. It’ll only be viewable in shorts (right outside calf), so no one at work will ever see it.
