2. well i’ve STILL got to finish house of leaves one of these days, so i guess. that one. and nothing else until i plow through it bc it’s really good but just so intensive

3. it honestly depends? i think i lean towards canon, though, just bc so many AUs (including stuff i’ve written lmao) tend to just be retreads of canon, which is cool, but i’d like some Fresh Hot Takes once in a while, and i feel like canonverse delivers on that better

5. honestly i don’t really do crack ships, per se, but i do remember how in 2015-2016 all the star wars wlw were shipping rey with the cute resistance pilot played by jessica henwick and it was good... take me back to 2016 star wars PLEASE

I was just rewatching SC and noticed in 2x10 David was so kind and patient with some random girl having her first period. Like getting it for the first time is scary enough but to have it in your stepmoms employees motel room? And he was so nice to her when he could have run to Stevie or told her to stay in the bathroom until someone picks her up, or have them pay for the bedsheets. But he was just supportive and for that alone he deserves the same kindness in the Incident.

Hi, I saw you post about EEHV, and I was wondering if you knew of any place that is researching that that accepts donations? Recently a little elephant, Asha, passed away from EEHV at Budapest Zoo. I really liked her (as much as it makes sense for a regular visitor to like a specific animal at a zoo) and I'd like to make a donation in her memory and I'd like to do it someplace where it really matters. Thanks in advance. I love your blog :)

Happy to help! It’s really sweet that you want to contribute to the research on EEHV. 

If you want to donate directly to an EEHV research project, I’d reccomend the International Elephant Foundation’s EEHV Genomics & Pathogenesis program. Once you click the amount you want to donate on that page, it’ll give you a chance to specify what program you’d want the support to go to. 

The National Zoo also has their National Elephant Herpesvirus Laboratory, but I think they only take generalized donations - you can’t target your contribution directly to EEHV work. 

While I’m talking about EEHV work to support, I’m also going to plug the EEHV Advisory Group because they’re doing incredible work around the world. Their annual meeting for 2019 is going to be held down at the Houston Zoo, which was in the news recently for their protocols development for EEHV monitoring in their herd in collaboration with a local university.

Ahhh that’s a really good point I hadn’t thought of that!! Does it work for everyone if I keep the poll open for two days? Midnight tonight through to midnight on tuesday GMT? Hopefully that should give all time zones the chance to vote even if they boycott?

Hi, so I had this thought a few days ago: what if Remus did believe that Sirius told Voldy about the Potter's location because of the incident at the Shrieking Shack? Like R thought that S told V not to have the Potters captured but to set up a trap for V? He wasn't trying to betray them, he was just (as so often before) careless.

I don’t think we would have found out about the shrieking shack incident unless it mattered to the marauders’ story. Yes, it explains the animus snape had for james a tiny bit, but saying ‘they had a rivalry’ certainly would’ve explained it in terms harry (who had his own rivalry with draco) could understand. For me, part of the reason the shrieking shack is so important is because it does lay the foundation for the distrust between remus and sirius, five years later. Each genuinely thought the other was a spy, and we know that that spy was giving up order members, one by one. I do think they each thought the worst of each other, but hated what they thought the other had become. Obviously, all was not lost because the literal moment remus realized the truth, he was On Board the ‘sirius isn’t evil’ train.
