Inktober 7 - Shy (kind of)
I want to talk a little bit about one of my real life hero, so this will be an irregular post.
I’ve a friend - at least I hope I’m lucky enough to call myself to his friend - @yourbestmate . Not so long time ago, he had his second birth, because he left that so called, scary closet, and started his difficult, yet successful journey to be that guy, who he is in real. And now, I guess you all figured: Matt, my friend is a trans guy - yes, that’s him in the doodle.
I’ve known him for years now, and he’s one of the kindest, most caring person I’ve ever met. He’s funny - he can cheer up anyone anytime, and he’s a real fighter. I hope all of you, guys have someone in your life as him.
Two days ago I got a message from his partner, @szonklin that Matt was in his way to his chest-surgery. Everything went well, and he’s already at home. Though while he was at the operation I was wondering a lot about his journey. To be honest, I was not good and supportive friend, because I was lost in my own head, but I had the chance to follow his story later, and spoke with him, with his partner and with his friends.
And their story and his story is almost unbelievable, because have you ever considered how much pain is to living through almost half of your life to hide yourself from the world and even from yourslef? Have you ever considered how much strengh and persistence it is needed to step out to the light, throwing your mask away, and say: this is me? Have you ever frightened of your family and your loved ones reactions, yet you have chosen to fight and win against your demons? Have you ever questioned yourself? Did anyone ever rejected you? Did anyone ever loved you so much that she was in your side even when you left yourself? And how about those time when your body is workig against you? Do you now that feeling?
I believe, all of us have to deal with questions like the above during our life - even if the situations are different. Sometimes we are able to stand straight, and sometimes we lost. And then, here is Matt. My Matt, who had to deal with these quentions all at once, and he was able to find his way.
I mentioned this post is about real time heros. You know, for me, Matt is one of them. His will, the way how he is walking in his path step by step, and never gives up, is inpiring. And heros can inspire us. Heros are those women and men who have special abilities, extraordinary personalities, or who can do such special actions what can give us hope, and that is exactly what Matt is doing.
Besides, in general I think transgender people, everyone from LGBTQA+ community, and everyone on the world who had to ever rebuild her/his life and was able to do it, is a hero in it’s own way. So this post also a shoutot for you: YOU ALL ARE AWSOME! Keep going!
And for you, Matt, I just want to thank you for being here with us.
