Do you ever just think of how Vision users might have scars from their own accidental use of Visions when they first got them?

Like how Diluc has some burnt scars on his hands, how Kaeya has frost burns on parts of his side from his burst, how Childe has little cuts and scars from his too sharp hydro weapons, how Zhongli still carried his first jagged scars from the first time he carved Geo and only hiding it with the off coloring of his hands.

Xiao and Kazuha still have anemo scratches and wounds that would flutter out with excess anemo because it keeps opening up, releasing wind instead of blood. How Scara has cracks forming on his body from the electro he felt that he wasn't worthy or wasn't supposed to be able to wield.

Thoma's many, many burns littered across his body from trying to prove himself to the Kamisatos and from eagerly pushing himself to do better with his housework. Itto and the many nicks and cuts from jagged rocks and sometimes when Ushi is summoned in a wrong angle.

How Venti would still adorn the same scars that he remembered his friend having, how the scars from when he adjusted from his sprite form to his human form remains as a reminder to never forget and to not let Erosion take over.

Ei and her electro scars remaining onto her from the Cataclysm and from failing to protect Makoto. Raiden Shogun doesn't have them, they are her burdens and she wants to honor those who have fallen on her own terms. Her fingertips tingling with Electro but no long feeling the finicky element.

in a field of qingxin

xiao x reader | anthology 

Birthdays, celebrations of life, honoring of years - none of these meant anything to Xiao. Today was just like any other day - two thousand and something passages of time had floated by and while there were memories he recalled fondly, there were some he pushed deep into the earth he worked hard to cleanse. It never really worked, but it didn’t stop him from trying. 

Then, on a seemingly fated day, he met you. As most beings do, he expected you to flutter in the wind - a blip in his endless life-stream - but you hovered, lingered, stayed - called his name and taught him things his lonely days would never see. 

He’d never admit it. Never tell you outright how much this connection meant to him. The words felt foreign on his tongue; a weakness he should be able to swallow but never could. Yet, it felt so nostalgic to him. Though that feeling didn’t make since. 

You weren’t around thousands of years ago when those he once called family surrounded him; you weren’t in existence and yet the same feeling that filled his heart then spilled from him now. It bloomed every time you turned to face him, every time you smiled hello, every time you spoke. No matter what you did, you reminded him of a place he’d forgotten so long ago.

“Xiao Xiao!” You shouted ahead of him, hands waving in the air as your laughter floated around him. He heard it countless times but somehow this setting made his already clenched heart worse; why did that happen whenever you were near? 

With a sigh, he followed after you even as his gaze drifted to the tall cliffs that rose toward the sky and blocked out the sun. Why on earth you wanted to bring him all the way out here he wasn’t sure - but you were adamant about it to the point he had to give in lest seeing your eyes water. “Be careful.” He reminded you fully knowing it would fall on ignoring ears. 

“Oh, here - here it is!” You exclaimed but instead of bouncing forward you dashed toward him, skidding to a stop in the dirt, laughing at your near tumble in doing so. “Close your eyes.” You commanded and he squinted, assessed, but noticed your excited breath and adoring smile so he submitted to your request. The brightness of the world dimmed into darkness. His senses became heightened with the loss of sight but when you grabbed his hand his heart did a flip. “No peeking.” You mused and he followed after you in the darkness. 

It was obvious that you’d left the canyon. The echoing cliffs didn’t bombard his hearing, the blackness of the shadows illuminated into a yellow glow even with his eyes still closed, a familiar sweetness drifting through the once stifled wind which came about in a sudden gust as his clothes flapped around him and your hand gripped tighter as if he’d fly away. 

How silly of a thought; as if he’d ever disappear from you. 

“Okay, open them.” You whispered, hand slipping free from his and the unexpected loss of it caused his fingers to flex, his arm to lift as if to catch you on instinct. When he opened his eyes he had to squint against the brightness of the sun before taking in his new surroundings. 

Xiao had seen almost everything this land had to offer. From the tips of the stone pillars to the depths of the chasm he’d walked through it all but what stretched before him caught him off guard. Had he never seen this place before or were his eyes turned so far away from it in his duty to protect it all? 

Or perhaps it was you who stood in the middle of a rustling field of qingxin flowers that made him aware of the beauty that surrounded him. Sunlight danced across the white speckled field, clouds covering it’s rays to cast delicate shadows in stretches beyond what his eye could see, birds flew over head while crystal flies danced in circles around one another. He took a step forward and watched as a yellow leaf floated past him but when the wind picked up he swore they turned into glittering starlight; was that also because of you? 

You turned to look over the field and his heart flipped again. Perhaps he should converse with the other adepti about this strange affliction that came over him when the two of you were together. It didn’t matter what you did his heart behaved strangely but, right now, it was his mind that betrayed him as he begged for you turn look at him again. 

In a daze, Xiao made his way toward you. There wasn’t any reason for him to be so distracted. The world was as it always would be. Plants grew, the sun rained upon the earth, the wind drifted as it should. All of the natural things in life continued on without needing his attention but he found himself transfixed by the person who stood in the middle of it all. 

How was it that a being like him was allowed to have fallen so desperately for a human like you. 

When he was close enough, he bent down to steal one of the hundreds of flowers below him. He tended to is as a lover would tend to their partner before stopping just in front of you. “Isn’t it beautiful here?” You asked as you turned to look at him once again. 

Xiao didn’t say anything, what was there to say:

That you looked beautiful here? That the sound of your voice was the thing he listened for most intently? That he cherished you without knowing what that really meant? That you were the one person he sought out when he felt alone? 

Would you even understand him if he said all this when he barely understood it himself.

As he thought, his hand absently moved to your face and, as carefully as he stepped through the field of flowers, he placed the qingxin over your ear. “Happy Birthday, Xiao.” You hummed against his touch, your cheek leaning into his open palm with a comfortable smile. 

Xiao wasn’t sure what steps to take next but he felt drawn to be closer, nearer, more in tune with you so, in his uncertain bravery, he took a step closer and captured your hand in his. Your palm felt so wonderful against his fingers but he needed more. Another step and he moved to rest his forehead against you. 

You accepted him with a giggle, you connected with him through your smiling cheeks and a soft kiss against the palm that held you. You held onto him with a gentle grip and he felt the whole of the world breathe into him. 

The two of you stood in a field of qingxin and didn’t notice the flutter of anemo crystal flies that found their way near you as if to give their blessing to the souls  that resonated on the gentle wind.

How be? How goes weddinging? I couldn't handle the stress of wedding planning so me and my husband spent $80 and got married at the courthouse. So much less stress.

Also, the best part of being congested is eating food or drinking flavored water and getting the sensation of flavor without the actual taste of flavor. I hate it.

henlo! wedding planning goes -- the amount of decisions that go into this is too many lol, but i have a plan to try on dresses next month (hopefully I can find something that makes me feel like I'm in lord of the rings kinda hehe - best wedding inspo in my opinion) -- i can understand choosing to just go and get married; it's valid, 100% get it lol

ooh nuu - those dang allergies are getting everyone. i need to make sure there's enough in the shop to help alleviate the symptoms (i gotchu fam) -- may you breathe well soooon
