After initially being scrapped as the Tech Giant, Chopper’s original concept was revisited for Trap Team. To fix the “T-Rexes are too horizontal” issue, the designers attempted to make Chopper as short, stubby, and small as possible. However, the mounted cannon no longer seemed to fit such a small dinosaur, covering up too much of him at that point. After experimenting with multiple concepts, Chopper’s final design is "a T-Rex with Helicopter, Mech-Suit Legs, and Missiles", drawing out I-Wei's inner child.
