Somehow I ended up on George Lakoff's blog, and from there it was inevitable that I read 6 or 8 of his posts, because part of me has always wanted to be a propagandist I MEAN because I'm fascinated by how language affects people and while it is, sadly, too late to employ his ideas to keep the Turnip from becoming president, it is NEVER too late to learn how to communicate more effectively.
Also, a wishlist: 1- for someone who is a caricaturist to take the Turnip idea and run with it
2- for a version of that browser plugin that turns "Millennials" into "Snake People," only it'll turn Turnip's name or references to him as president into something like:
Turnip
Twimp (Lakoff's idea)
Minority President T(whatever)
Loser in Chief Turnip
Loser President
works in some of Lakoff's other notions about what a "strict father" figure cannot be, which Turnip most definitely is (a loser, corrupt, a betrayer)
But really why aren’t more people going for “President Twit” given the Twitter obsession??!??
3- for people to take these ideas and apply them to OTHER Republican figures, ideally BEFORE they win elections, but I suppose if you can start discrediting them any time - ESPECIALLY by pointing out how they fail to be good “strict father” figures - so much the better.
There was a lot of other good stuff in the blog posts about how language affects how people think, and some differences between how conservatives vs liberals (his terminology) try to win votes (values vs policy (snore)), and I highly recommend it: https://georgelakoff.com/blog/

Some of you have by now seen either summaries of the Executive Orders the President signed today or the teasers of the one’s he’s supposed to sign tomorrow. And, of course, there was last night’s tweet about Chicago. What is important to keep in mind is that a lot of the stuff in the Executive Orders actually requires Congressional action. For instance, it is against the law to reinstate torture, d/b/a enhanced interrogation techniques, within either the Intelligence Community or the military. It doesn’t matter what the EO states. It doesn’t matter that the President has stated he’ll have DCI Pompeo revisit the Army Doctrinal Publication (formerly Field Manual) for conducting interrogations, DCI Pompeo isn’t in charge of the US Army, isn’t in the US Army’s chain of command, and has no control over US Army doctrine and concepts. If the President wants to bring this back, which is a terrible idea on its face, he’ll have to get it through both the House and the Senate.
...
The point here is that if you freak out each and every time something strange, bizarre, provocative is said or done, you won’t be able to do the actual hard work of conserving and preserving the US. And it doesn’t have to be great, gigantic work. The small things are as important as the big ones right now. Looking out for each other. Ensuring that we don’t forget the ideals that are America. That we don’t loose sight of the norms of how American institutions are supposed to function even as they’re being discarded. That we hold our elected officials accountable and make it as difficult as possible for them to discard those norms and jettison those ideals. That we recognize that true patriots don’t need to capitalize the word and scream Liberty and Freedom from the rooftops at the tops of their lungs. Holding the line means not losing your mind.
This is a collectively authored reference site about the Donald Trump administration. This work is produced by a partnership of concerned citizens, journalists, politicians, and watchdog organizations. Our mission is to document the Trump phenomenon, and ideally, limit the damage that can be caused by this unprecedented assault on facts, civil liberties, civil rights, and norms of public and political behavior.

A good list
Democrats and health advocates described the strategy as highly unusual, and some fear it could be wielded to favor political allies.
“The Trump administration offered states a deal: pledge to enact White House-favored policies for a chance to win a bigger share of the $50 billion aimed at transforming the nation’s struggling rural health care systems.”
