they'd been walking along battery park by the water since it had been so nice out, and daph can't help but laugh at tony's words. even she had to admit the music of the sea glass carousel had been annoying, but well....it wasn't like they were gonna escape that kind of shit any time soon either. "....yeah well, better get used to it now daddy," she said as a hand briefly brushed down her front. they were out in public so she didn't want to draw much attention to it. at least not yet. "cause sooner rather than later that's gonna be your future. you know? i bet once this thing comes out you're gonna take it to the carousel all the time. and then it'll just be in your head forever and ever and ever...." she mused before she laughed. daph leaned into his side gently, hand moving to lace their fingers together as they continued to walk. "but also, don't you worry. i'll give you something else to commit to memory later when we get home, and you'll forget all about that pesky music baby. promise."

               it's   moments   like   these   that   had   davina   wonder   if   maybe   the   universe   was   against   her      &      tony      ,      or   if   she   just   seemed   to   have   the   worlds   worst   luck      .      she   was   meant   to   go   on   this   mission   as   a   healer      ,      not   to   engage   in   anything   hands   on   and   she   had   been   promised   that   this   was   a   friendly   situation      .      healing   would   only   come   into   play   if   Drax   had   decided   to   touch   something   that   would   injure   him      ,      like   he   always   seemed   to      .      but   a   friendly   mission   on   their   part   didn't   mean   that   those   opposed   didn't   have   something   else   up   their   sleeve      .      

               it   felt   like   full   circle      ,      the   memory   of   when   tony   was   lost   in   space      ,      when   he   had   come   back   looking   as   if   he   was   at   deaths   door      &      while   she   wasn't   as   malnourished   as   he   was      ,      she   wasn't   sure   when   she'd   be   home      ,      when   she'd   see   him   again      .      it   was   weeks      ,      she   had   counted   every   day      &      somehow   gamora   had   negotiated   their   release      &      with   that   they   had   been   free   to   go      ,      leaving   davina   wondering   if   this   was   something   she   wanted   to   keep   doing      .      at   least   while   carrying   a   child   within   her      .

         it   took   a   couple   of   days   to   get   home      ,      the   communications   on   the   ship   being   busted   in   the   attack   so   there   was   no   way   for   him   to   know   where   she   was   and   that   she   was   coming   home      ,      but   when   the   ship   had   landed   on   Avengers   tower   she   was   sure   that   he   would   be   there      .      she   was   sure   the   whole   team   would   be   seeing   as   they   would've   been   tracking   them   the   second   they   came   within   their   stratesphere      .      she's   exhausted      ,      looking   as   if   she   had   barely   slept   as   she   steps   off   of   the   ship      &      looked   around      ,      wincing   at   the   sunlight   since   it   felt   like   decades   since   she   had   been   exposed   to   it      .      '      the   welcome   party   is   looking   a   little   thin      .      '      she   manages   as   she   smiles      ,      looking   among   the   faces      &      landing   on   the   one   that   she   had   been   hoping   to   see   for   weeks   now      .      '      don't   be   mad   at   me      .      '
