TAB Events: Forevermark Black Label Collection Launch

Earlier this week I dropped by Cedar Lake (a great exposed brick event space) to help Forevermark celebrate the launch of their new Black Label Collection. The Black Label Collection is a vignette of precision cut diamonds that are available in five popular shapes: oval, heart, cushion, square and round. The emphasis on precision and symmetry ensures that the luxe stones reflect the optimal amount of light - making your engagement and wedding band stones as attractive and eye catching as possible!

Featured above are a few of the styles that were on display at the launch event. My personal favorite was the collection of baubles in the top image. The bracelet is the perfect combination of sparkle and Art Deco style.

TAB Events: #ELFBeautyExchange - ELF Cosmetics Goes Public!

Last week was a pretty busy one for me! I spent the first half of the week in Texas on business and then returned to New York just in time to participate in a huge celebration. As many of you know, I’m a member of the #ELFBeautySquad where they send me complimentary boxes of goodies each month for me to #playbeautifully and post about on my social feeds. So, it’s safe to say I’m a huge fan of ELF! If you weren’t aware, last Thursday ELF Cosmetics debuted as a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. And to celebrate, they invited a number of their beauty squad members to spend 24 hours with them to ring in this achievement (pun intended).

The event began with a check-in at the new posh Beekman Hotel in Lower Manhattan to drop off our overnight bags and freshen up before heading to Williamsburg where we spent the night partying and mingling at the Wythe Hotel. Thursday was a super early morning as we had to be up and ready to leave the Beekman at 7:45AM to head over to the New York Stock Exchange. After a brief history lesson on the NYSE (established 1792) and the building - which still features the gilt architecture from the original structure, we were guided onto the trading floor which is actually far more civilized than movies of years gone by liked to portray. We had a great time watching the ELF CEO and creative director ring the bell and then continued the afternoon with more fun!

After lunch we headed down to the Battery Park area for helicopter rides! Now for those who don’t know, I’m a nervous flier when it comes to large passenger jets - like say Boeing 787s and Airbus A380s. So, hopping into a tiny helicopter that could maximum seat 7 people (including the pilot) and where we were required to give our true weight before we got on the helicopter was definitely a little nerve racking! But I’m glad that I opted to go because it was really beautiful to see the new World Trade Center from the air and to get an aerial view of the Statue of Liberty, the harbor and all the way up to Central Park South! Ironically, take off and landing in a helicopter was far smoother than any regular flight I’ve ever taken (looking at you AA flight from LAX to Sydney >_<)!

Anywho...after all of that adrenaline, we rounded the afternoon out with a stop into ELF’s flagship store in Noho for a comped shopping spree. Now I go there often because even though I do get tons of goodies from ELF on a regular basis, I’m not opposed to buying products that I either use so much that they need to be replaced or that maybe aren’t on ELF’s agenda for promotion at the time. So, yes I did a bit of shopping and stocked up on goodies.

Overall, although I was tired last week from the traveling and events, I had a fab time! I got to meet a group of lovely beauty influencers from the tri-state and across the US. I got to experience a few firsts: 1st time to the NYSE and 1st time in a helicopter. And of course, beauty enthusiast that I am, any time I can be around like-minded beauty mavens and lovers, it’s always a good time!

TAB Events: Brides Magazine Presents a St. Germain Tasting!

Now that it’s officially spring in New York my social calendar is getting busier! And to welcome in the blessedly lovely warm weather, I spent yesterday evening at the Andaz Hotel on 5th Avenue at a private event hosted by Brides Magazine sampling a variety of refreshing cocktails made with St. Germain elderflower liqueur. I’ve never had St. Germain before, but I have to say this French liqueur is a must have for the bartender aficionado in your life. It was an amazing liqueur that - although sweet - wasn’t overpowering.

Their signature cocktail, which is aptly named The St. Germain Cocktail (featured above) is a light and refreshing concoction which includes champagne, and a twist of lime zest. In my opinion, this drink is perfect for a cocktail reception - like say at a wedding. It’s unique enough to be the talk of the evening while also with a low alcohol content so that guests aren’t over indulging twenty minutes into the event.

TAB Events: Athletes for Art Renaissance Tour NBA All Star Weekend Charity Auction

Last night I attended a charity event held at Manhattan Motor Cars to benefit the Athletes for Art Renaissance Tour (AART) that was hosted by the actor Malik Yoba (of New York Undercover and Empire fame). Even though this was an NBA All Star Week related event, it also had the added boost of occurring during Fashion Week so much of NYC's young and hip crowd was in attendance. I got to hang out with Josh McBride, founder and host of Style Confidential, as he covered the event and interviewed Malik Yoba.

AART is an organization that encourages the blend of athleticism and artistry by giving athletes a chance to flex their creative muscles. In turn, these athletes are cultivated to become global ambassadors to help effect change within the local, national and international communities. AART creates events centered around auctioning artwork from these athletes-turned-artists to raise money and awareness for other charitable community based endeavors.

Last night a variety of unique pieces of art were on display (yes including that iconic piece made from vinyl records in the shape of Africa from the set of Empire) as well as some interesting tags on a skinned Rolls Royce and Porsche.

TAB Style: Crossover Lingerie from Evgenia

Last week I stopped by a lingerie pop up shop hosted by Underhaus and Completely Bare which showcased a number of unique lingerie brands - and just in time for Valentine's Day too! One of the lines that really stood out to me was Evgnia, a brand of racy underthings that can also double as day wear!

Although Evgenia does offer a variety of barely there sheer bralettes, panties and maxi dresses which are sure to dazzle in the bedroom, they also offer a number of camisoles and corsets that can be worn for a night out on the town. TAB Events: Palmer's Eventone Suncare Launch

Last week while I was trying to get into the groove of being back in NYC, I stopped by Refinery Hotel's rooftop lounge to celebrate Palmer's Eventone Suncare collection launch. The Palmer's brand is a mainstay in my home. I grew up on it, and if I even think I see a blemish or uneven skin texture, I go running for my giant jar of their cocoa butter formula. The stuff really works...so if you're not already hip to Palmer's - I highly recommend you get with it!

Anyway, Palmer's has finally made the natural progression into the suncare vertical, which makes complete sense as their cocoa butter is often promoted as a great after sun care treatment to prevent burning and dryness. With a variety of cocoa butter formula products ranging from body and facial lotions, sunscreen spray, on-the-go moisturizing stick and a moisturizing balm (all of which are infused with SPFs from 15 to 50) there's absolutely no reason to run around bare with your skin exposed to the sun's harmful rays.

What I really loved is that Palmer's is specifically interested in marketing their Eventone Suncare line to people of color. And to do that, their collection is specially formulated not to leave an ashen white residue on your skin after application. People of color often live under the misconception that we don't burn because of the naturally high levels of melanin concentration in our skin. Likewise, it's a common (and very wrong) belief that we also don't tan - but we do! I'm clearly a brown skinned girl and I burn very easily on the beach specifically on under exposed areas like my bikini lines. In short, the sun doesn't care what color you are, those UV rays are real, and can be dangerous so practice good sun health!

TAB Style: Bridal Registry Inspiration from Christofle @ Martha's Wedding Party

One of the central aspects of everyone's bridal registry is flatware, table settings and quality glassware. Whether you've never given it a thought until you start to create your registry or you've been planning your china patterns since you were a small child, place settings and table wares are a cornerstone of your registry.
