"I'll be honest with you, I don't know what this movie is about plot-wise." Keo announces from where he's stood in front of the microwave waiting for the popcorn to be done popping so they could start the movie that he had rented on VOD. "I just saw surfer, shark and serial killer and said yeah, for sure, what the hell's that going to be, lessgo."
He wasn't difficult to impress when it came to movies, his only metric of measurement for them being whether he enjoyed it or not.
( If it did turn out to be a dud it wouldn't matter, he has other ideas for how they can kill ninety-eight minutes. )
The microwave dings and he reaches to open it, pulling the handle a little too fast without looking at what he was doing which sent a pile of papers that were resting on top of it avalanching off and onto the floor.
"Fuck," He says to himself before freezing and then remembering that Theo was at her dad's so he didn't need to sub in a more Theo-friendly word there. Keo is careful not to step on any as he gathers them, the majority of the pile comprised of drawings, a couple of bills and a letter that he hadn't intended to read but had accidentally skimmed after noticing the emblem on it when placing them back on the microwave.
With a tilt of his head, he continues to 'accidentally' read it's contents while he poured the popcorn out into a bowl, making a 'hm' sound to himself before he reaches for it and tucks it under his arm so he can carry the popcorn in one hand and two unopened beer bottles in the other as he went to join her.
Once he's next to her on the couch with the snacks set down in front of him and his hands free, he doesn't reach for the remote to unpause the movie.
"I know you're on the edge of your seat dying to find out about these animals and what makes them dangerous." He pauses briefly to hold up what he had actually reached for, his question slightly muffled by the acceptance letter he holds in front of his mouth like a very official looking moustache. "But I'm way more curious about what this is."
