Date unknown. Active; focal plane 188 m (617 ft); three white flashes every 20 s. 3 m (10 ft) round concrete or fiberglass tower. No photo available but Google has a satellite view. Located on the northeastern cape of the Mahia Peninsula. Site status unknown. Operator: Maritime New Zealand. Admiralty K3969; NGA 4484.

Okay, back to Tassie 1997. An early edition of things-through-weeds. Somewhere near the Table Cape region of Northern Tasmania. And a lighthouse for good measure. Interesting that this lighthouse is not on some windswept, rocky cape, but bang in the middle of the fertile farmland.

Came back from Tassie Wednesday night after two weeks spending quality time with loved ones. Aside from the people, my other favourite thing about Tassie is how beautiful it is - crazy weather and all. It will always be home to me 😊👌❤

The vibrant red and green curtains of the Aurora Australis complimenting the fields of tulips on Tassie's North West Corner. This area, near Wynyard and Table Cape, lies on a series of dramatic cliffs looking out over Bass Strait. Each year, during late September through to mid October, the fertile fields explode with colour, drawing people from far and wide to walk amongst this stunning tulip spectacle. The major event within the three week display is the Bloomin' Tulips Festival, which culminates this Saturday - we can't think of a better way to welcome our Tassie Springtime!
