Book 7 of 2026.

I liked this one. It's not an 'omg, I like this one' but I also didn't hate it. Some books are like that, right?!

I did have a feeling of 'this could be a woman' at the very beginning so that wasn't the shock. The shock was that she had indeed killed her main target Before we as readers know about the 'first victim' in the book.

Also can now confirm that James Ensor is not a painting style I enjoy.

(This was a library book but otherwise it would have cost me 22 euros. Which maybe for me would not have been worth the money.)

Saddayah - Apopheny of Life (Loud Rage Music)

Saddayah је death metal бенд из Румуније који постоји од 2013. године и поседује једино овај, осредње моћан full length албум. На Apopheny of Life преовладавају песме спорог и средње-брзог темпа (који, чини ми се, доминира). Не превише технички захтевна свирка, али ни монотона. Одлична је гитарска бас артиљерија.

Прича је махом већ до сад виђена: бенд са неспорним музичким умећем, више година постојања и издање које је коначно објављено. Још један у низу death metal бендова, значајан на локалном нивоу, али ништа што би могло нечим посебним да исплива из мора и пробије локалне границе неким себи својственим шмеком.

Tableau Mort - Veil of Stigma. Book I: Mark of Delusion (Loud Rage Music)

Veil of Stigma. Book I: Mark of Delusion се може укалупити у black метал тзв. другог таласа и је махом спорог до средњег темпа. Из промо материјала сазнах да је у питању мултинационални састав, са највише индувидуа из Румуније, иако је стациониран у Енглеској. Веома ефектне промо слике за бенд black метал усмерења. Некакви corpse paint зомбији у свештеничким одорама - мало подсећа на Batushka стил. Текстови су ортодоксне тематике. Прво преслушавање ме је оставило потпуно незаинтересовано, а скоро и свако следеће. Није помогао ни тај ефектан визуелни изглед чланова.

За музику се не може рећи да је досадна, али је некако нејака и лоше продуцирана, са лоше наснимљеним бубњем, који подсећа на звук лоше програмираног бубња. Вокал је махом једноличан, али својствен овом правцу метала. Када се узме у обзир да је ово још једна верзија давно испричане приче black метала, да ништа ново није речено, па и да је то што је речено слабашно, добије се само још једно издање у мору других добрих, бољих или лошијих.

Бенд би морао поред визуелног да поради и на музичкој јединствености и препознатљивости на неком следећем остварењу да би оставио неки бољи утисак.
