Enshittification by Wacom

On the left is my 15 year old Wacom Bamboo Fun pen. The nib is ground down to almost nothing, the buttons fell out years ago, and it is held together with tape. Both ends still work.

On the right is a brand new One by Wacom pen that is slightly smaller, flimsier, and DOES NOT HAVE AN ERASER.

How the hell did their pens get worse??

Look, I know this may seem like a weird thing to get hung up on, but I have fifteen years worth of muscle memory making me flip the pen every time I want to erase.

Anyway, sent it back and got a xencelabs tablet, which has a pen with an eraser. So far so good.

hey so idk of anyone else has had this problem but i have an intuos pro wacom tablet and for as expensive as their shit is it should not be this poor quality. like apparently the charging port on the damn thing gets loose after a while and i was able to work around it by purchasing a phone battery charger to charge the battery directly. but now i have a quality issue with their fucking pens. like their most standard grip pen with no extravagencies attached cost a little over $60. and this piece of junk will fall apart in your hands in no less than a year. like mine literally exploded. the back part slipped off, leaving the chip exposed and then everything just sort of tumbled out and it couldn't be put back together like humpty dumpty or some shit. what im getting from digging around is this happens to a lot of people and they have no choice but to break down and purchase a new one because there are no alternatives for the wacom intuos pro and customer service just tells them "too bad, so sad" cause they know their digital artists have nowhere else to go. before im forced into buying a new pen does anyone know of any alternative options? even if you've got a different tablet or brand entirely to recommend, i don't even care. wacom is just on my last nerve rn.

this is why we change pen tips. please don’t be stupid like me lol

these r the same pens technically, but you can’t tell since the old one has been worn down as i used it for so long. this made it progressively harder to make my lines neat and cohesive, because my computer was loosing the connection to the tip as it got more and more worn out. so change ur tips, i was able to get four for 10 dollars and that’ll last me probs until i get to college tbh

I know this is a first world problem, but god tablets are so fucking annoying. They just decide at fucking random when to lose pressure. No discernible god damned reason and there’s no black/white clear cut way to fix it. You have to go through a laundry list of bullshit to figure what went wrong and why. It takes fucking 30 minutes and I hate it. asdkfljdsaf

Surface Pro 3 Pen Nibs?

So, I'm thoroughly unimpressed with Microsoft atm. I just got my keyboard replaced for my Surface Pro tablet because: A) The cover for my F6 key just fell off and wasn't able to be put back on B)My N key was sticky Mind, this is after only 2 months of using it only for the internet/basic computer use. And NOT the hardcore use that I need to put it through daily for my college program that I'm going into in a few days. Now just a day after I got that replaced, the nib of my tablet pen falls off... again... for the FOURTH TIME!! And this time I can't just stick it back in cuz I lost the nib. Anyone with a tablet can tell you what a problem this is. For those of you without, I'll spell it out for you: I can't use the pen. I can still use the touchscreen just fine, the keyboard, tablet, everything else works, but I have grown pretty accustomed now to being able to color and/or sketch using programs on my tablet. This means I can sketch something out, save it and upload it all within an hour. With scanner (or at least the one I use), gettting a decent scan alone can take up to half an hour (because the scanner is stupid)! As of right now, I have no cash and/or patience to go to the nearest Microsoft store and ask for a replacement nib/pen. But it is in my to-do list for the near-ish future. So, my question to the Microsoft-Tablet-owning artists of Tumblr is this: Does Microsoft sell extra pen nibs? Does Microsoft sell replacement pens (I didn't see any replacement pens there but I wasn't looking for any, either)?
