Sorry to keep posting Random Digi-Things to Buy on the Internet, but I thought these were really clever pieces of fan-merch. They’re dice holders in the shape of digimentals! They appear to be 3D printed, and have magnetic lids. The seller is MazAndAttero on Etsy.

They have the Digimentals of Love, Kindness, Light, Sincerity, Knowledge, Miracles, and Destiny in their shop right now. Kindness looks REALLY cool, and I love that Destiny is represented! Though as much as I am here for Wallace, I would be the most tempted to get Miracles for myself, just for the fun of attributing subsequent TTRPG critical successes to this digimental and its ability to make impossible things happen XD

I don’t have enough dice to make owning one worthwhile, but it seems like a REALLY well-executed and unique idea that I absolutely love the concept of!

Well, I did not end up doing much drawing this weekend, but I did find other ways to be creatively productive. Got to work on repopulating the queue for the Haru blog, and made some headway in planning a tabletop rpg oneshot I’m hoping will happen in early 2022 (it’s woodland creatures, y’all! There is no better way to engage in creative brainstorming than researching the traits of pikas and armadillos and turkeys and opossums and thinking about how that might inform the kinds of communities they join and the jobs they might perform in a cooperative society of talking animals :D)

Speaking of the Haru blog though: should I tag everything as spoilers as soon as the 5th appdriver shows their face? Yes, no, what do you think?

GUYS I’m??? DMing a D&D campaign and sent out Session 0 notes to my party last night and people are actually replying back which is causing the whole thing to sink in like “WAIT, THIS IS REAL NOW?” and get really super nervous LIKE ahaha this is such a bad idea!!! I’m gonna make so many mistakes!!! Why would anyone trust me to cultivate and arbitrate their tabletop gaming experience AAAAAAAAAAH

Got a very cool-looking (haha) ice dragon for the D&D campaign I’m running! I really hope we can start meeting in person again before the final boss battle—but even if not, he’s good inspiration to have around.

First time doing an all-virtual D&D session tonight. Wish me luck!

(For those of you keeping track: the campaign is generally going well! I feel like the battles haven’t been challenging enough for my players, but I think that’s mostly due to the fact that they’ve been having high-CR single-enemy fights and I’ve kept them very informed through the narrative about what they were facing since Lvl 1 is so fragile. That has changed a bit with Lvl 2 and their second location. But we are having fun, and I’m not stressing out about each individual session quite as much anymore. Five sessions in, and we’re on track to finish their second quest tonight. I’m starting to add some hooks that will hopefully turn into PC character development down the line and I’ve been homebrewing a few magic items. They’re facing one very nasty trap and a potential orc ambush tonight, so we’ll see how all that goes!)

keyforshort: If this is your first time dming, then it's 100% understandable to be nervous, and you will definitely do better than you think!! You're a player too, and the most important part of this is that everyone, including you, is having fun! Make the session short and ask for feedback, and don't let anyone be a dick to you or the other players.

Aah, thank you for that! It is most definitely my first time DMing (how COULD you tell?? ;D). Objectively, I know it is very likely to be fine. It’s a game by a newbie for newbies, so we’ll all be making mistakes, learning (and laughing?) along the way. Objectively, I know everyone involved is a mature, rational adult who I work and play board games with on a regular basis (and oh yeah, one of them is my spouse), so fun with minimal dickishness seems quite achievable! But... some parts of my brain don’t want to listen to those rational thoughts and would rather just spin off into Panictown DX

I really appreciate the advice though! I’ll do my best to keep the first session moving along and ask for feedback afterwards (and make sure I have fun too!)
