It’s Amelia (@curieousblr)! I know that everyone on Tumblr is in love with the Chrome applications Momentum and Lanes. These are great, but I’d like to spread the word about another alternative free application called ‘Tabs for A Cause’. Using revenue from a couple of unobtrusive ads, this tab application raises money, which you can then donate towards a charity of your choice. The background is customisable; you can also add sticky notes, links and a number of other aesthetically pleasing and useful features.

For a few months now, I have been donating to the Room to Read foundation, an excellent organisation promoting children’s literacy and education across the developing world. The application offers you the chance to choose your favourite charity to donate to, so the experience is truly a personally fulfilling one.

It’s so nice to know that we can make a difference in the world, just by researching, studying and using the web!

It’s super easy to donate money to amazing cause by downloading tabsforacause (link below). Every time you open a new tab, pennies are added to different charities that support various causes. Think if every person who used the internet had tabsforacause. Cause to me that sounds like a frack load of money. Pretty awesome.
