( it seems both her and occtis fit into that latter category, though they're close enough to witches to get by. one of them, at least. ) and somehow, hope gets stuck shepherding their newest ... exchange student on the full tour. her school spirit has always been abundantly lacking and it is a physical effort to stifle the snort in response to the boy's stuttered question, after nearly knocking into the wall to get out of the way of the rambunctious wolves that scamper past, hooting and hollaring as they go. her eyes roll, gesturing for occtis to follow her pivot down the next corridor with a turn of her wrist.

( as much as she can, when she has to crane her neck so to look him in the eyes. ugh. it's always the lanky ones. ) “ listen, occtis. i know this place might not be your first choice, or a choice at all, but ... it's safe. the safest place i know of. give it a chance, and i don't think you'll be too disappointed. ” she offers a slip of a smile, something to reassure. she knows, perhaps more than most, how overwhelming this place can be. but it can be a home, too. especially to those who have nowhere else to run.
