Always Classy, never Trashy, and a little bit Sassy
One of my (self created) job roles at the moment, is to organise the Year 13 Leavers Do! It seemed that the “Prom Committee” got bored of the idea so, obviously, I leapt at the chance! I have always had a slight interest in event planning, particularly since being involved with Bahraini events.
I was straight on it and within days, the venue and DJ was booked and the tickets have been designed, printed and ready to be sold.
Promotional content is on its way to being finalised, printed and plastered around the block, and I am planning a meeting to get the art and design students involved to create some props for a photo area (Budget is minuscule).
As the ‘Do’ hasn’t been the most popular in past years, my tactic is to get the students as involved as possible to peak interest and chatter, giving them insight into what it will be like before they purchase their tickets. I.e involvement in designing props, setting up a request sheet so they know the Dj will play music they like, asking for their opinions on different elements of the evening (ask around the building, and on social media platforms).
I won’t go in to too much detail, but I am enjoying having complete freedom and trust from my superiors to organise the event.
