okay people it’s SPOOKYTRIO LORE TIME!! Up first is the smallest of the group, our favorite little critter!!

there is a LOT below the cut, including their family lore!!!

Salami is the most normal amongst the three within the SpookyTrio, and haven’t really had any drastic events happen to them throughout their life so far.

They are, despite their size, not a pebble. Salami is the same age as Celeste and Marie, but they happen to just be a very late bloomer. This bugs them a lot, as almost everyone else in their family is very tall and/or large, and it sucks getting mistaken for a little kid when you’re in your junior year of high school.

Prior to Grace arriving on Erid, Salami was skeptical about aliens actually being real. They mainly stayed in the SpookyTrio club because they enjoyed spending time with Marie and Celeste. Their true passion is star patterns, planets, and space travel. They hope that one day they can pilot their own ship with their friends as their crew!

Salami is extremely anxious and cautious, as their smaller stature and more delicate carapace material means they’re more likely to get hurt. They are not an only child, but their parents had Salami when they were on the older side. Salami’s older siblings are all fully grown, so Salami was given a lot of attention as a pebble. They may have been overprotected by their parents, leading to their anxious and cautious nature.

Speaking of—here is some info on all three of Salami’s parents!

First is Deli, who is inspired by Rhodochrosite!

They are a very mellow and easygoing soul who surpassingly had quite a wild streak back in the day. Before having Salami, Deli was the stay-at-home parent who looked over them and their partners’ pebbles while the other two were off at work. They enjoy making small bits of jewelry, nothing too fancy but small jingle pieces are their specialty.

Their current job is at an Eridian Daycare, where they look after young pebbles whose parents are unable to watch them during the day. When Grace arrived on Erid and began teaching, him and Deli began to have a small friendship since they often teach the same circles of pebbles!

up next is Cherrybomb, who is inspired by Cuprite!

She may look a bit scary and intimidating, but really, Cherrybomb is nothing but a sweetheart! She enjoys having long conversations with Salami about what they and the SpookyTrio get up to, as well as taking Salami and their friends out on various excursions (such as taking them to work for fun, or going on long walks together)

Back in the day, Cherrybomb was the most rebellious between her and her partners. She used to be quite the skateboard (or whatever the Eridian equivalent is) expert, doing so with little to not protection. And she never really grew out of her punk style. Though her carapace might have smoothed out slightly, you can still see the sharpened bits all along her body.

Salami gets their interest of astronomy and astrology partially from Cherrybomb’s passion for meteorology. Ever since Salami was a little pebble, Cherrybomb would teach them about weather patterns and wind speeds, and how all these different things effected everyone on Erid.

And last but certainly not least, we have Toffee, who is inspired by Smokey Quartz!

Toffee is very laid back, but still has an a bubbly and energetic personality. They are on the more artsy side nowadays, running a successful Eridian tattoo parlor that’s quite popular.

Previously, tattoo designs were just a hobby she did for fun. She originally intended to be an engineer, and was supposed to be apart of the Blip-A crew. However, just a few days before launch, their leg was crushed by a piece of machinery. Thusly, they were instead replaced by a different engineer and were told to stay home on Erid and recover.

The engineer that was sent in place of Toffee is someone who I’ll get into later…I’ll just say that they and Toffee were pretty good friends, and that ever since Grace returned with Rocky and Rocky only, she hasn’t really been herself.

ANYWAY PHEW THAT WAS A LOT OF LORE!!! Hope you guys enjoy all the yap and art for these guys :D

TADC EPISODE NINE SPOILERS AHEAD

this part of the flashing outfit sequence. do you think this implies jax’s mom was going to send her to the military to “fix” her after she presumably came out. so she could “man up” and that it would be all better and that’s why she hugged her at the end of her berating conversation she had with her. am i crazy.

thoughts on The Truman Show (incoming rant)

easily became one of my favorites I have seen in a long time. i haven’t really seen any other analysis of this movie, so if this is already a take, well uh nuh uh

In all honesty, I think the Truman Show is a pretty decent allegory for abusive parenting.

think about it!!!! Truman is legally under the care of the network, and the network psychologically fucks with him. they control where he is, who he has relationships with platonically and romantically, even the media he consumes is all used in brainwashing him into staying, that he’s safe here in Seahaven. he has no say in who he is, he’s just Truman, the star of the show, a show he doesn’t even know he is standing in the spotlight of.

don’t even get me started on the network itself. there is a shot of two guards wearing shirts that say “Love Him, Protect Him.” Sound familiar?

“I’m only doing this because I love you.”

“I’m doing this because I need to protect you.”

those are common manipulative phrases!!! not even to mention they are constantly just gaslighting him into thinking everything is real!!

also, they directly are the source for his biggest trauma, his thalssaphobia, and they USE IT DIRECTLY AGAINST HIM TO MANIPULATE HIM INTO STAYING. Christof literally makes the storm happen and is convinced it will “scare him into coming back” LIKE HELLO???

are we even going to talk about the very end? how it shows Truman going through something that hurts him and is painful and is mentally difficult for him but he keeps pushing because the end goal is worth it? kind of how leaving an abusive relationship often is? how Christof STILL is trying to manipulate him into staying by saying the outside world is cruel and that Christof “knows him better than he does himself”???? a line that has BEEN USED ON ME BEFORE WHEN I TRIED TO STAND UP FOR MYSELF???? AUGGHH ITS SO GOOOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE

also small note i LOVE how the camera angles are always askew and slightly blocked by something or have a weird frame around the corners of the screen, and how Truman is almost never center, further selling the idea that Truman is being recorded secretly. also big fan of how fake Seahaven looked, the night sky having no stars was very daunting.

10/10 movie would recommend

big announcement gang :]

right as pride month is about to end, i’ve (finally) figured out my gender identity as a demigirl, and from now on will be using she/they pronouns! i’ve been thinking about this for over a year and now am more sure of myself regarding how i identify!!

for those not in the know, demigirl is a label for those who identify partially as women, and partially as something else (typically nonbinary). In my case, I often find myself feeling like a girl, but also as something else additionally that is out of the ordinary gender binary.

happy pride month everyone!! remember to give yourself time to figure these things out, and that it’s never too early or too late!

making up lore for your musical theatre character when they don't have any is so fun and whimsy. what do you mean my character is a bird whose sister outshined her so she dyed her feathers and even brighter color (green) but the dye also stained her eggs green and she now is trying to sell green eggs and ham to make a living. what do you mean her only buyer is fucking Sam-I-Am down on Who and she doesn't want the other jungle creatures to realize she knows that Who is real because then they'd all turn against her and ostracize her, and she cant let that happen because she did not fucking ruin her feathers just to get shunned.
