🏠- A memory about their childhood home/where they used to live
“I don’t quite know you, but I don’t get to talk with many about such things, save my brother so you’re lucky.” M’arin gave a smirk. She settled in to share said memory.
Rain fell gently from the sky and into the clearing that the two Miqo’te had settled on for a campsite. The eldest of the two, a red-headed male Seeker, poked at a fire to get it started up again. Beside him lay a string of fish just pulled from a creek nearby. On his other side, his younger sibling, a young girl child with that same red hair, sat playing with a set of jacks and marbles. The dampened grass made for a rather poor place to practice this particular game. With a small sigh, the Keeper child made her way into the clearing, leaving her game carelessly by her brother’s feet.
“M’arin, don’t stray far.” M’arin stilled for a moment and tightened her small fingers into fists.
“Won’t go far, bro’ter. Wanna see the stars after rain goes sleep.”
She walked further out into the open and stopped around the middle of the clearing. She looked up at the sky, rain drops falling softly on her face. After a few moments, the rain stopped altogether and the clouds slowly broke apart, revealing the night sky, complete with the quarter moon hanging just above the trees. M’arin’s face lit up with joy and she plopped backwards onto her back, staring up at the twinkling stars.
Someday, I’m gonna walk into the starry night and dance with the stars.
