Pre Zoey and Mira days with Celine and Rumi hunting.
Injuries aren't uncommon, they're two people doing a three man job while missing the other people who make them whole and are *supposed* to fight alongside them. Injuries aren't uncommon, infact they're basically expected.
Celine has one rule, no hospitals. They both know more first aid than some EMTs, and the honmoon gives them accelerated healing.
Unfortunately, on day Celine gets hurt, bad. Worse than Rumi knows how to deal with, she's losing blood fasting than the honmoon can stop. Rumi breaks a rule for maybe the first time ever and calls an ambulance.
She makes something up about a mugging, there's holes in the story, but she's 14 and in shock and injured herself, so no one blames her.
This incident is how Tae-hee finds out she's Celine's emergency contact still, even after so long.
She gets to the hospital and Celine is in critical condition and the question of the hour is... what to do with Rumi? She has no other family. Mother dead, estranged grandparents no one knows how to get ahold of, father unknown, Celine's parents are dead, no aunts or uncles, and they really don't want to turn a child star over to the system. Tae-hee really doesn't want to turn Rumi over to the system.
So Tae-hee abuses her money and influence to be Rumi's emergency foster parent while Celine is down for the count.
Tae-hee reconnects with the honmoon after shutting it out since Mi-yeong's death because no way is she letting a kid, let alone her soulmates kid, hunt on their own.
She tries her hardest. Through the guilt of knowing she abandoned the two, through the shame of knowing the pain she feels right then is probably how Celine has felt all these years, through the fear of having no clue how to care for a teenager, through the terrifying knowledge that this might not be temporary and Celine may never wake up.
She tries her hardest for the people she never stopping loving even when she was running. She makes sure Celine's doctors are doing their job, she makes sure Rumi takes care of herself, announces a break for her solo career.
...and Rumi? Rumi is a mess. Celine, her everything, is gone. All she has known thus far is Celine and deceit. In her world of cameras and PR and networking, Celine is all she has that is real and kind. If Celine dies, what happens to her?
Through all of this, Rumi is so bitter. Angry at everything. She takes it out of Tae-hee because how dare she? She abandoned Celine she she needed her most and now after one phone call, she comes in with the legal right to make decision for her and Celine? Tae-hee takes the heat in stride, partially attributed to her believing its deserved retribution.
Over time, they truly bond. Rumi starts trusting Tae-hee with things, maybe even stuff Celine doesn't know(I.E. her eating disorder.) Tae-hee learns to care for Rumi the teenager, and not the image of an infant, a ghost, and a woman maybe better off left to die.
Rumi never fully let's Tae-hee in, she doesn't know how far Celine's "no one but me can know about your patterns" extends and isn't going to take risks, but say she does. Say she tells Tae-hee.
Now, Tae-hee has to wrap her mind around how that recontextualizes basically everything and the fact no one told her the truth. Now Tae-hee has to feel guilty for being mad at Celine when the woman is literally lying in a hospital bed.
What happens next? Up to you.
Maybe Celine wakes up and her and Tae-hee kiss. Yay lesbians?
Maybe Celine recovers, and the two of them go their separate ways once more. The wound of losing each other ripped right back open.
Maybe Celine dies and Tae-hee is officially a single mom with two dead soulmates.
