Biela was snuggled up against Dacia, half asleep listening to her mate and Taemis talk about court gossip. Her feet were too sore and she was too tired to edit her thoughts.
Ash was sprawled out on the couch, with his feet up on the arm. “Could we please talk about something with more substance,” he asked. “Who cares who’s sleeping with who. None of these people are sleeping with me, so really is it even news?”
“Oh gross,” Dacia said, nose wrinkled. She took a drink from her wine. “No one’s sleeping with you because the people of my kingdom have some taste.”
Ash whirled up into a sitting position. And glared towards them. “Obviously not,” he said.
Biela tugged her slipper off and threw it at his head. “This is girl talk,” she said. “Not annoying ginger talk, so leave.”
The slipper hit him upside the head. He rubbed the spot and threw the shoe back at her. “Oh trust me,” he said. “I would love to, but alas it is storming out and I don’t want to get my hair wet.”
Taemis’ brows arched. “Baby.”
Ash looked towards her. “I am baby. But I am right.”
“You won’t get wet if you got struck by lighting,” Biela said, half kidding. “Maybe it’ll turn you to ash and we won’t have to deal with your mouth.”
Ash glowered at her. “A: I already am Ash. B: Why don’t you go get electrocuted. You’re probably into that kind of thing. But you’re probably too close to the ground to even get struck.”
Biela went to get up, but Dacia lazily tugged her back down. “No killing the ambassadors, love,” she said, smoothly, “I don’t want to explain to our allies why we killed their men.”
Biela scowled. “Fine.”
